Peace whilst transiting through the Amundsen Sea between Dotson and Getz Ice Shelves

This is among my favorites from Nepal. We climbed straight up towards Throng Pedi to acclimate. Oddly there are rarely any sunsets with color this high, you have to be higher up, and this is dangerous due to the rapidly changing conditions. Literally one hour later this entire view was gray fog, nothing to be seen.

I followed this river for hours up it's winding pathway, taking in the beauty, tranquility offered, and observing the always changing yet unchanged stillness of the river. Siddhartha speaks of the lessons to be learned from the river. The placid tranquility contained within the oneness of the river with the world around us. The interconnected way of nature and life. River moving to ocean, ocean moving to mist, becoming snow, falling, melting, always the flowing, moving yet still.

Thanks everyone who view my pictures and for the Comments/Faves on them, really appreciated...

So what's the rush?.

Being by the sea and watching the sun sinking below the horizon is such a peaceful experience . This sunset was taken on Agonda Beach, Goa. I feel a sense of calm just looking at it.

Chiavenna, Val Bregaglia, Lombardia, Italy, 2023

Chiavenna is a small but charming town in northern Lombardia, right next to the Swiss border, south of Maloja Pass. Great place for hiking and an excellent basecamp for many places. Lake Como is 30 minutes south and Diavolezza Glacier an hour north by car.

In this black and white photo, a solitary, leafless tree stands alone near a dry creek bed at the foot of a rural hillside. Winter softens the pasture into stillness, making the scene calm and tranquil.

The photo has been edited. I included a zoom blur in post-processing to introduce some energy that helps guide your eye to the center of the image (the tree). The vignette complements the blur and further directs your attention to the tree while adding some visual contrast and a greater sense of depth.

The late afternoon sun hits the Lewis Mountains on the eastern end of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. Approximately 10 miles (16 km) long, and over a mile (1.6 km) wide and 472 feet (130 m) deep the lake fills a valley formed by glacial erosion. Lake McDonald lies at an elevation of 3,153 feet (961 m) on the west side of the Continental Divide.

I went back there one more time in the morning before going to the Airport. I like this image, so I guess it was worth visit (This time I didn't have as much mosquito bites!!)

Olive Lake at Kootenay National Park, BC has tons of fish. The smaller ones swam near the banks, we could see them, in fact touch them if we want to. Very peaceful and serene except for the fact someone had spotted a black bear near the lake just the day before. One of the paths we took to the lake was narrow, we were little apprehensive that any encounter with a bear would be tricky. We spent exactly 15 mts to reach the lake, take pictures and return to our car :))
