The South Trail is very well groomed and is a multi-purpose trail, handling hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. At this point I was coming across a lot of hikers (some in large groups), a couple of bicyclists, but no horses.
The Virginia Creeper Trail is a 35-mile multi-purpose rail trail. Located in southwestern Virginia, the trail runs from Abingdon to Whitetop, Virginia, near Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and the North Carolina state line.
The trail follows Dead Horse Creek, with footbridges spanning the creek along the way. The trail is a steep mile-long climb with uneven rocky terrain. Near the top, the trail becomes steeper and even rockier, but handrails help guide visitors to the boardwalk that frames a portion of the lake. Ascends some 1,000 feet (300 m) in elevation for 1.6 miles (2.6 km) from the trailhead to the lake.[1]

The trail to Heart-Shaped Waterfall on St Helena Island is the most pleasant forest walk near Jamestown.
The snowy and icy trail at Lake Louise. I loved the silence and the stillness of the hike, and only saw a few others going to the lookout.

This is the view from the gorgeous discovery trail at Haldon Hills, Devon.
I will be going back for more, no doubt.
Just discovered this newly created trail by the lakeside at Durand Eastman Park. Through hill and vale and wetland created by glacial meanderings of the ages. We decided to walk instead of eat at dinnertime-. must be dedicated artists
42 photos stacked in startrails.exe, i did a bit of editing with the moon as it looked a bit rubbish smudged across the sky.
A two-hour, 480 image shoot resulted in this star-trail stack, with several Geminid meteors visible. Shoot in suburban Carindale, so heavily light polluted, but the skies were nice and clear.
Located in the foothills of the Bighorns, this 4-mile, non-motorized trail is perfect for a sunrise walk with your dog, trail run, horseback ride, or mountain bike ride. It offers beautiful 360 degree views and is located convenient to Sheridan. Bring a windbreaker during colder months and extra sunscreen and a hat during the summer as the trail follows the exposed ridge.
The Soldier Ridge Trail is located where pavement turns to gravel at the end of W 5th St., about a 5-minute drive from downtown Sheridan. When the road becomes gravel, take the second left (first left is a private driveway) and cross a cattle guard. Turn right into the trailhead parking area.
Completed in 2013, this trail was made possible through generous gifts from the Don Roberts Family and ERA Carroll Realty and was a combined conservation and recreation project.

Virginia Creeper Trial between White Top Mountain and Damascus, VA.
I took a few too many photos to "light up" the bike trail with my new GPS tracker.
Star trails
Shot from my backyard tonight.
Tricks for this shot!
Camera setting.
Full manual mode
Use the widest lens you have
at the widest setting
Manual focus set to infinity
A - Widest available
ISO - 200 ( 400 if you have a good Noise control programme)
Shutter speed... This is the tricky part and depends on the camera. In manual mode change to 30 second ( some use bulb mode for 1 - 4 hours)
Change from single shot to burst mode ( ie camera will take photos as long as the shutter is pressed). Use remote release in the locked position.
If you don't have a remote release it is hard work. you have to stay with the camera and press the button every 30s
Use Mirror Lock up feature if available.
Fully charged battery ( ideally newish)
Record as RAW only
Use the heaviest tripod you can get
I had to use a microwavable warmer to warm the lens (dew). Place it on top of the lens before shooting. Battery operated fan after ~ 30min will also help.. disadvantage is that you have to walk to the camera :-)
Press and lock the remote release and return in 1 hour.. Job done
Workflow
File > Script>Load files into stack> Choose source file>tick the box for convert to smart object
tick align ( I did not..)
come back in 10 min ..depends on the speed of your comp. You will see just the first image on top.
Layer>Smart objects> Stack Mode>Summation
you get the sum of all non tranparent pixels in 5 min
Layer>Smart Objects> Rasterize
Last step
Image> adjustment> Black& White> tick Hue
Tweak to your hearts content after this step
Use NR Plugin
This was my first attempt.
I did not include an intersting silhouette. which is essential for a good picture.
May be next time.
