Breitling Jet Team

In this manoeuver, the airplanes are flying with less than 2 meters of distance between them. The pilot could pass from an airplane to the other.

The Breitling Jet Team are a civilian aerobatic display team based in Dijon, France. They fly six L-39 Albatros jets in the colours of their sponsor, Breitling. They are the world's only civilian formation team flying jet-engined aircraft. The team currently comprises Jacques Bothelin (team founder and leader), Bernard Charbonnel, Christophe Deketelaere, Philippe Laloix, Patrick Marchand and François Ponsont.
The team flies a display lasting 18-20 minutes and includes close formation flying, opposition passes, solo routines and synchronised manoeuvres. The team display across Europe and the Middle East and each year undertake a busy schedule of engagements, including major international airshows and Breitling corporate events.

If you were experimental 1980’s funk band Bargain Basement and had created a concept album called ‘Touching the Void’ based on the memoirs of astronaut turned celebrity spiritualist ‘Mad’ Barney McPherson then this is the cover artwork I would supply you with.
Touching the Void would be an hour long audio assault featuring spoken word samples (direct from the man himself), funky basslines, stinging guitar licks and strange audio glitches as the band tried to convey Barney’s journey from respected scientist and test pilot to discredited celebrity spiritualist. Via space.
Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. For now at least.

I didn't mean to add three pictures today, but it's been a while since I even dressed, just touching up my lippy.
There was a fairly strong wind from the north that gave some good movement to the clouds and stuff all the mini-icebergs in Lake Michigan to the south side of the little bay area in front of Shedd Aquarium.
The building next to the Prudential building is one of my all-time favorites as it has spot lights that shoot upwards giving a real gothic look.

While wandering down Livorna Road, I noticed these white flowers peaking over a high fence. I liked the way that they harmonized with the white, puffy clouds above, so I got down low to shoot them as cleanly against this background as I could. I also wanted to emphasize only some of the flowers, so with my Lensbaby on f/8, I moved the sweet spot to the upper left to expose this bunch of flowers in focus while blurring the rest.

St. John of Nepomuk Statue

"There is a plaque fixed to a statue on Charles Bridge, depicting a man being thrown off the bridge. What is the story behind the plaque and why do people touch it?
The statue represents Saint John of Nepomuk, the court priest of King Wenceslas IV. Legend has it that he was killed by request of the king, because he refused to tell the king about the queen's confession (what was the queen's confession you ask? Well, we don't wish to suffer the same fate as Saint John!).
Actually, the truth is that he invited a bishop to Prague who was the king's enemy.
Touching the statue is a Prague ritual. It is supposed to bring good luck and to ensure that you return to Prague soon.
Walk a few steps towards the Old Town from the statue and you will come to a cross with five stars on the left parapet of the bridge. This is the exact point where the priest was thrown in the water in the year 1383. Legend has it that stars appeared when he touched the water. Here you are supposed to touch the cross and the stars with your left hand and make a wish. Whatever your wish, it will come true!"
