this is also one of the rare occassions that i was really trying to infuse meaning and symbology into the overall composition (i usually just try to make interesting and pretty things and let the viewer interpret their own meaning into it).
so about the nude:
just recently someone had told me that all of our creative energy springs from our second chakra, as well as the root and center of our sexual energy. the color of your second chakra is supposed to be a bright to soft orange depending on how you are feeling. the circle/border in "touching color" lines up with and emenates from the models second chakra, the floral tree (symbolising life and newness) encompassed within this subtle circle of both color and negative space is filled with soft and creamy tones as well as hard clean lines symbolizing both the soft surrendering of the creative process and its more analytical/intellectual aspects right beneath the surface. the way the border transitions from bottom to top is meant to show how we put forth both creative and sexual energies and they disperse and evolve into something else. and for the record her hand is just resting in her lap.

Taken while dog sledding on a Glacier in Alaska last spring. The mix of clouds and storms in the sky were just beautiful. I use HDR to bring out as much of it as I could.
Tone mapped in PS4 before converting down from 32 bit. Was very careful with the clouds because they wanted to go very dark, but I just wanted the detail in the lighter rim areas.
