Soft edge shallow rocks, sand you can walk over seemingly forever, fresh waves endlessly going over them, washing all the prints left by walkers. Perfect foreground laid in front and then great sky and after light hits the clouds and you know that next morning you will be checking your screen if this for real happened. You saw the wonder of a fairy tale. Touching bottom does not always have a negative meaning.
A trip last week to the Humber Bay Park East in Toronto proved rewarding, as there must have been over a hundred butterflies hovering over the milkweed. That was the first time ever I saw so many butterflies in a natural setting! It wasn't luck I saw so many butterflies. Now it is the Monarch's migration season. I learned that in North America they make massive southward migrations starting in August until the first frost. A northward migration takes place in the spring. The monarch is the only butterfly that migrates both north and south as the birds do on a regular basis. But no single individual makes the entire round trip. Female monarchs deposit eggs for the next generation during these migrations.
