Night has made fields frozen and brought shadows on every corner of the small town of Jämsä. As the sun rises, tips of the trees receive the golden touch of morning, and with that, the rail yard of Jämsä wakes for today's activities.
The challenge today is hand! I was looking through the submissions and was inspired by Krista's muddy hands photo so I pulled out the paint and colored my son's hand with paint, when that wasn't working for some reason I added an egg to the mix. What I ended up with was a colorful mess that didn't work. I ended up photographing my hand, paint smears and all.

We were lucky to be in the right place at the right time to get a shot of this rough-legged hawk as he landed and quickly took off again.
Final touches to these two machines.

Spotted touch-me-nots grow by the creek. If you touch a ripe seed pod it will explode and spray little green seeds. Apparently it is a cure for poison ivy but I have not tested that theory. The drop is hanging off a developing seed pod.
