A few 'impressionistic' shots from the fringes of the Vatnajökull ice cap. It was incredibly beautiful up there, watching the light flow across the ice-scape.
This photo was taken as part of my coverage of the Apple 5th Generation 2012 iPod touch. They were all taken with the iPod touch camera, untouched or edited. You can see the full video & much more at www.youtube.com/geekanoids
A Blue World
by Jessica
Blue skies filled with hope,
Hearts filled with joy
A blue ocean of wonder,
Our love builds warmth
Eyes blue and sincere
Lovers who want only dreams
Blue stars burn to flames
As I look for the answer to my heart
Cold blue hands-
Warmed by a single touch.

Travelling east on Mt. Baker Highway, State Route 542, just past the Firs Lodge along the left side of the road, we came upon a deserted Picture Lake in the Heather Meadows area, Washington State, USA. From here you can get spectacular views of Majestic Mt. Baker and Mt Shuksan over in Whatcom County as well as the Snoqualmie National Forest.
Here we see Mt Shuksan and her reflection in Picture Lake on a day when just we four intrepid travellers were present on the waters edge. Mount Shuksan is a glaciated massif in the North Cascades National Park. Shuksan rises in Whatcom County, Washington immediately to the east of Mount Baker, and 11.6 miles south of the Canadian border. Standing 2,783 m tall, she was first ascended on September 7th 1906. Known in Nooksack language as Sheqsan (High foot) or Ch esquen (Golden Eagle), she is approximately 120 Million years old.
