Macro Mondays - Lit By Candlelight
I know this doesn't meet the requirements for this week's theme, but I had to shoot and post it anyway. HMM
Commande de la Commune d'Andrézieux-Bouthéon
Au début des années 1970, Total commande à l'architecte et ingénieur Jean Prouvé une centaine de stations-service modulaires. Certaines sont encore en fonctionnement en France et en région parisienne (dont trois en Essonne), d'autres ont même été inscrites aux monuments historiques, et quelques-unes ont été vendues aux enchères. Car ces stations « Prouvé » sont devenues collector.
Tonight's full eclipse was pretty spectacular. A Red moon as the it rose but laterly a more normal colour. I was amazed that the clouds cleared for much of the eclipse.

Notice how the moon in the northern hemisphere looks "upside down" in comparison to here in the southern hemisphere!

Après le Cithém Festival, qui fut un franc succès pour moi, assez inattendu d'ailleurs...
J'ai obtenu de continuer l'exposition des mêmes photos à la Maison de la Vie Associative d'Alençon, rue Demées (en face de "la proue du bateau" de la cité administrative et donc en face de la Sécurité Sociale).
Cette fois-ci ce ne seront pas 50 mais 34 photos au total qui seront exposées, pour des raisons de nombre de cimaises manquantes sur place. Cela n'aura pas été trop grave, davantage aurait risqué de tasser dangereusement les images.
L'entrée à la Maison de la Vie Associative est libre (et à l'exposition aussi) : le pass sanitaire ne vous sera pas demandé sur place, mais le port du masque sera néanmoins obligatoire durant la visite (et un sens de la visite est fléché au sol de longue date sur les lieux. néanmoins, sauf à être un groupe, se tromper de sens ne sera pas trop dramatique. Pensez quand même à le respecter.
Les groupes, justement, sont responsables entre eux des pass sanitaires (aka : si vous voulez vous contaminer entre vous, c'est votre affaire).
Cette exposition aura lieu jusqu'au 30 septembre 2021 (le démontage se fera très certainement le 30 l'après-midi donc pensez-y si vous n'avez que la fin du mois pour y aller).
La Maison de la Vie Associative est ouverte de 8h30 à 12h et de 13h30 à 17h du lundi au vendredi.
Je ne m'attends effectivement pas à ce que nombre de mes followers sur Flickr puissent faire le déplacement.
Je suis néanmoins très heureux de vous annoncer que, pour celles et ceux qui le souhaitent, il est toujours possible de me contacter en message privé s'ils veulent découvrir cette expo en ma présence (et si bien sûr, ce jour-là, je suis disponible).
Je suis ravi de pouvoir faire perdurer un peu plus cette série qui me tient à coeur. Merci à vous tous : tous ici avez joué un réel rôle dans la réalisation et l'amélioration de cette série...

Like many, I headed out last night to catch the total eclipse. This shot is pretty much right out of the camera, with a little focus stacking and noise reduction as needed. Also, I shot with cloudy white balance to bring out the warm colors that I saw in the moon. An amazing world out there at ISO 6400!

Obtained at the very beginning or the very end of the total eclipse, when the bright sun is just barely visible beyond the mass of the moon.

was für ein Tag!
nach einer langen Partynacht mit Kopfweh aufgewacht, nach 3-5 Kaffee erst mal die Spülaschine angestellt, wobei ich dann leider feststellen musste, dass sie defekt war, ich habe dann Stunden damit verbracht einen Handwerker ausfindig zu machen. Er kam dann auch, aber leider war er nicht sehr kompetent und setzte erst mal unsere Küche unter Wasser...nach langem hin und her gelang es ihm endlich die Maschine wieder in Gang zu setzen, ich war heilfroh, aber auch mit den Nerven am Ende ...Fazit...Technik ist Segen und Fluch;-)
what a day!
woke up with a headache after a long night of partying, after 3-5 coffees I turned on the dishwasher, but unfortunately I discovered that it was broken, I then spent hours trying to find a repairman. He came, but unfortunately he wasn't very competent and flooded our kitchen... after a lot of back and forth he finally managed to get the machine working again, I was relieved, but also at the end of my tether... Conclusion... technology is a blessing and a curse ;-)

When planning to come to a wedding on the 26th, my brother encouraged us to come 5 days early for the eclipse. What a treat!
At Wheal Coates, just outside St Agnes, there are substantial remains including these structures which date from the 1870s when deep underground - and in this case under-sea - mining began. 138 people were employed at this mine and processing works in the 1880s, but production was sporadic and the mine was unsuccessful, though a further attempt at increasing production was made in 1911. The mine workings had probably been in use for several hundred years, long before the Victorians introduced their steam engines. The surrounding land belongs to the National Trust.
These are just above the Towanroath Shaft Pumping Engine House (pictured below), which was built in 1872 and helped to drain the adjacent mining shaft which was some 600 feet deep, well below sea level.
I had originally intended to do an HDR shot, and this is the middle one of three scans. It is however straight from the camera and totally unaltered in any way.

Well a Year ago yesterday I spent the day in Wyoming watching my 1st and hopefully not my last Total Eclipse of the Sun, what an amazing experience that was, well worth the 3000 mile road trip from Los Angeles...:)
Roll on April 18th 2024 for the next one in Vermont & New York State..:)
