Chaque jour, passant devant lui, ses arbres aux mille nuances me saluaient, et je sentais comme un bond de joie dans mon coeur.
Les arbres sont toujours là.
Ils m'ont semblé aussi beaux, leurs feuilles dansant légèrement comme autrefois.
Derrière la vitre d'une fenêtre, j'ai aperçu de loin l'ombre d'un vieux visage, regardant vers le ciel.

Alhoewel ik totaal geen liefhebber ben van verkeersrode 185'ers van DB Cargo, zijn sommige treinen die ze trekken in combinatie met omstandigheden toch wel erg mooi om te fotograferen. Waar je deze locomotieven op de Nord-Süd Strecke vooral treft met saaie containertreinen kun je in het Ruhrgebiet en langs de Rhein ook vaak fraaie gemengde goederentreinen of andere bloktreinen vastleggen achter deze veelvoorkomende locomotieven. Zo'n bloktrein is de blauwe Wascosa kalktrein die DB Cargo aanvoert in Oberhausen West waar de trein vervolgens door ThyssenKrupp wordt overgenomen en via de Angertalbahn naar Flandersbach wordt gebracht. Ook op 14 mei gebeurde dit toen de trein door een duo bestaande uit een 185'er van de tweede en een 185'er van de eerste generatie werd getrokken.
De foto toont de DB Cargo 185 209 in voorspan met de DB Cargo 185 006 die onder een donkere lucht Hilden voorbij rijden met een lange sleep Wascosa kalkwagens onderweg richting Oberhausen West. Zoals gezegd wordt daar de trein overgenomen door ThyssenKrupp die de trein naar Flandersbach brengt!
Le Plateau de Bénou (860m) sur la route du Col de Marie-Blanque offre un superbe panorama sur le fond de la vallée en forme de U, témoin de l'érosion causée par le passage du glacier d'Ossau et sur les massifs alentours. Chapelle du Houndas C'est un lieu pastoral avec de nombreuses granges et troupeaux au printemps et à l'automne.
Départ de nombreuses randonnées sur les différents plateaux : Houndas, Roland et Técouère et cercles de pierre (chromlechs).

I finally put together a composite of my favorite images of the 2024 solar eclipse. I was fortunate to have crystal clear skies in Quebec for the duration of the eclipse.
Total Obscurity - It's common for the fog to be so thick that you can't see the towers or even the roadway.
"Karl the Fog" - The famous San Francisco fog often engulfs the bridge, creating dramatic, moody scenes where only parts are visible. Conditions change rapidly; one side of the bridge or bay might be clear while the other is socked in.

A large raptor around 55-70 cms tall and weighing around 1.5 - 2.4 kg and found throughout the year in India. They are probably the smallest of the 9 species of vultures found in India. The birds are very distinctive and easily recognizable unlike some of the other vultures which are confusing to id.
This one is an adult with the full white plumage and yellowish face and beak. Immatures tend to be totally brown with a greyish face. The birds are often seen around carcass dumpyards or in the deserts where dead cattle / animals are lying rotten. In our Rajasthan trip last week, we sighted 100+ of them all around the state - they are quite common there. In fact, Rajasthan has 7 of the 9 vultures found in India. Like most vultures, this is quite shy of people, but many a time, we found very close to the nomad settlements perched on the poles or walking around on the ground.

Monty is two years old and full of energy, enjoying playtime with visitors at the Kitty Cat Cafe. In this shot, however, he's observing me from a kitty tube as I photograph Peaches engage in some wand work with a fellow visitor. Monty can be very acrobatic, so I'll have to try some action shots with him next time.
