先週に続きカテナで、今度は白。「アラモス」というシリーズはカテナのセカンドラベルで、使用されている葡萄品種はトロンテスという聞き慣れない品種。アルゼンチン以外ではほとんど使われていない品種のようだ。パーカーの評価は87点。
色はやや薄目だが、花のように華やかな香りがする。味わってみると、すっきりはしているが、口一杯に広がる果実味がとても心地良い。これは当たりだ。
若干スパイシーも感じ、酸味はやや強目。味的に似ていると感じる品種は、ヴィオニエか？ヴィオニエに多少ソーヴィニョン・ブランをブレンドしたらこんな味になるのではないか。
惜しむらくはややアルコール感を強く感じるが、トータルの印象としては、1500円以内という値段を考えるとこのコストパフォーマンスは驚異的。以前飲んだシャルドネといい、ここの白ワインのレベルは極めて高いと思う。

FOOD PAIRING
Torrontés goes especially well with spicy, well seasoned food, such as Thai, Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. It is a great companion to the regional cuisine of Northern Argentina: empanadas form Salta and Tucumán and the traditional locro.

We were so excited by the appearance of the Sauvignon Gris with the conch chowder that I couldn't believe I liked the next wine better.
Fragrant, bright, dry, acidic, passionfruity. I sure love me some high-altitude whites! And only $9-12 at Sip on 5th or the internet. (I'm a cheap date.)

Ursprung: Argentina - Mendoza - Mendoza
Karaktär: Ljust halmfärgad med tydligt blommig, aromatisk doft mot violer och jasmin, mycket typisk torrontés med dragning åt muskat. Smaken är lätt och fräsch med trevlig mild syra och inslag av tropiska frukter och en touch av citrusskal
Familia Zuccardi har bott här sedan slutet på 1800-talet men deras vinhistoria går tillbaka till 1960-talet då Alberto Zuccardi lät anlägga en 16 hektar vingård för att på bästa sätt kunna demonstrera sitt geniala konstbevattningssysytem. I Mendoza måste man bevattna fruktodlingar och vingårdar då årlig regnmängd ligger på 170-200 mm per år, med andra ord halvöken.

The Cliff Raven Torrontes showed peach, nectarine, honeydew melon, grapefruit and subtle floral aromas. Light and crisp with restrained alcohol and bracing acidity.
