Koh Samui is more than beautiful beaches - I can only recommend you try one of the treks, if not on your own there a guides availbe. This way I was able to learn more about fruit farming and the indigenous vegetation. It is wonderful walking through luscious green with leaves in all shades of green and shapes and to spot a torch ginger right in the middle.
Torch juggling. This was at a party on the roof of my apartment building. In the background, you can see some lights from the city skyline. This was crazy!

The Fire Event 2011. Held on New Year's Day, this was the closing ceremony of the 2010-11 Woodford Folk Festival, held near Brisbane in Queensland Australia.
Some torches that were left from last summer. Maybe they will see the light again.

Friday 29th June 2012 and the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay happening reached Buxton. Fantastic crowds. Kind weather. Great torchbearers. Packed Pavilion Gardens.
Olympic Torch Relay went past our street this morning!
The guy was running pretty fast but looked so proud!
So this is the best of a bad bunch of shots as it was a blink and you missed it moment!

"When designing the sculpture, I thought of creating a symbol of light and I came up with the idea of a torch that stands tall to evoke friendship and unity.
I envisioned two tall columns rising and joining at the top in a playful dance to form the torch.
From all angles it reflects the different facets of the relationships between our countries. Sometimes festive, at times complex, at times very strong, but at the end, integrated and harmonious."
