It is known in Indonesian as bunga kecombrang or honje, Malay as bunga kantan and Thai as daalaa.

Torch Lake, with my old crappy Sony. This picture doesn't do it justice at all, I need to get a newer one up.

Copyright © 2012 Phil Dodd All Rights Reserved. A shot from earlier today, showing the 2012 Olympic Torch Bearer for Sandwell - Doug Chamberlain, chatting away while taking his turn with the flame along Bromford Lane, West Bromwich.
Below is Doug's nomination story, taken from london2012.com. Thanks for looking / reading.... Phil.
Douglas is a loyal and dedicated member of Wayfarer's Club Coventry, Mencap, and has been for almost 40years. His quiet determination to have a go at activities shines through. Not always the fastest nor the winner but his determination to succeed in whatever he tries, shines through. A keen swimmer for many years, and once he had mastered how he could take his feet off the floor of the pool to becoming a confident swimmer his fortay has become long distance. He now has many medals and ribbons to show for all his hard work. He never misses training and is always a team player often in the background but always there. His very real enjoyment of music and drama shown with always a smile and thumbs up, not wanting to be the star but then every production needs a chorus line and Douglas again is there supporting everyone else to shine. Recently Douglas's father died and now he helps his mum and sister who is also learning disabled to carry life on as normally as they can, saying he is trying really hard to carry on doing the jobs dad did to help mum, but he misses going fishing, however, he can and does do the gardening. Having helped his dad for many years, he has been able to continue maintaing the family garden to a very high standard. Wayfarer's are proud to nominate Douglas to carry the olympic torch - he is a true friend to many and shows strength and support to others with his determination to just have a go. He is an amazing ambassador for people with a learning disability.
Antique blow torch , is there any other kind ? I haven't checked the age on this 50 to 100 years old . In theory it could be even older , but I'm guessing it's from the 1920's or 1930's . Unfortunately it was so dirty and had spilled paint on it that I had to clean it up . That's why the brass base is so shiny and the solid copper top so neat looking . There was no writing or labels on it to damage so I'm no concerned about it losing value . Just imagine it completely covered with black hardened kerosene and soot and really old random paint spots all over it . You couldn't touch it anywhere without your hand getting black .
The sun shone as thousands of people turned out to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Knowsley.
The iconic Flame arrived at Knowsley Safari Park to be welcomed by around 6,000 people at a free event for the community.
It was carried in by local teenager Claudia Dowdeswell and passed onto the next Torch bearer, Jane Campbell who completed the circuit of the Park.
The Torch bearers were surrounded by officers from the Metropolitan Police whose duty it is to protect the Flame throughout the national Relay.
Mike Dooling, who’d been a teacher in Knowsley for 40 years, brought the Torch he’d carried a few days before on the Relay in Tatton Park.
Crowds gathered around him to see the Torch and many got the chance to hold it, including Knowsley Mayor and Mayoress Cllr Norman and Wendy Hogg.
Around forty different community groups were also represented with stalls and stands and local people performed at the Park’s Moment to Shine stage.
To cheers and flag waving, the Torch convoy then moved onto Liverpool Road where the Relay began again.
It was carried through Huyton and out into Liverpool, cheered on by crowds, ten deep in places, who’d turned out to be part of the Olympic excitement.
One of the torchbearers was 16 year old Joe Shaw, from Kirkby, who was chosen because of his charity work for the disabled and the wider community.
“This was a great day for Knowsley,” said Cllr Eddie Connor, Knowsley’s cabinet member for Leisure, Community and Culture.
“It was so exciting and great to see so many people turning out to be a part of it. They were all cheering and waving flags. It was really something.
“The Torch Relay has made it possible for the whole of Britain to share in the spirit of the Games.”
