So I got bored and thought, what encourages smiling. Then I thought of good dental health so toothpaste came into my head. So it only seemed logical to waste toothpase writing the word smile in my sink...
Simple (:
September 2012 - On Södermalm near the Slussen T-bana. I say neon but the animated sign is actually made with lightbulbs.
Boxes that I made in resin. The master patterns are made in MDF and Cherry wood. I took silicone rubber moulds of the two parts and finished them as china and wood. Top illustrations are laser etched and then hand stained

uncovered a vintage nib collection. suffered rust in this humidity. i had a go at using some toothpaste on a cotton bud to see how it would go. previously, this toothpaste was UNUSABLE as dental hygiene product. unbelievably terrible. i couldn't even use it as a hand wash. i did use it as a vacuum cleaner deodorizer. anyway.
i could feel it lifting the rust from the nibs as i polished. great so far. i rinsed in vinegar and dried them out. i read about using vinegar for cleaning rust, thinking it might be malicious / hoax advice, but i had nothing to lose.
they're nice and smooth now, i've yet to test them, at least one of them i can see is beyond salvage anyway, but one of interest is the speedball D which i don't think i've seen before, it's in pretty good nick.
i just about never use pointed nibs, but have got plenty to start on when i do.

update: on a short test run, they worked just fine
A close up of an old toothbrush and the last of my toothpaste for sensitive teeth. I have a thing where I always have to have a pink toothbrush. It probably stems from having two brothers so I always had to have the pink one and now it's become an imperative.
