uncovered a vintage nib collection. suffered rust in this humidity. i had a go at using some toothpaste on a cotton bud to see how it would go. previously, this toothpaste was UNUSABLE as dental hygiene product. unbelievably terrible. i couldn't even use it as a hand wash. i did use it as a vacuum cleaner deodorizer. anyway.
i could feel it lifting the rust from the nibs as i polished. great so far. i rinsed in vinegar and dried them out. i read about using vinegar for cleaning rust, thinking it might be malicious / hoax advice, but i had nothing to lose.
they're nice and smooth now, i've yet to test them, at least one of them i can see is beyond salvage anyway, but one of interest is the speedball D which i don't think i've seen before, it's in pretty good nick.
i just about never use pointed nibs, but have got plenty to start on when i do.

update: on a short test run, they worked just fine
My first attempt at levitation... like ever. I don't know if i did it the way it's supposed to be done, I would try again today, but my camera and my one lens are in repairs until the 15th of February... And I didn't think of taking more images to play around with editing for levitation while my camera is being fixed...
I was in an Indian market recently, and came across this package of Babool toothpaste. Being slightly embarrassed by my coffee and nicotine stained piano keys, I thought I'd give it a try. It has done such a fine job restoring the keys to minty white condition, I have decided to go back for some Babool floss to clean in between the keys.
I'm getting my teeth fixed up and it's going to take a little while, so the dentist recommended I use extra fluoride prescription toothpaste until we do.
For some reason I really wanted to play Guitar Hero 2 last night so in a last ditch effort I tried the ol' toothpaste polish trick.
Didn't work. Dammit.
My scratch goes around the disc unfortunately and can't be helped. Oh well. This gives me an excuse to buy it all over again when it comes out for the 360. New songs, new guitars, achievement points, and best of all, a rumor that all the songs from GH 1 will be available as a download with added co-op. If that's true, it will completely justify my purchase as I really enjoy the songs from the first game way more than the second.
Now I just have to wait until Spring! Ugh.
Students collaborated to create a new toothpaste brand and advertise it on "T.V.".
The skills/stages implied:
- planning, drafting, editing
-designing the toothpaste (3D model)
- collaborating, negotiating
- speaking, using body language, using music etc.
Having a transparent body, it makes it easy to ensure that you max the usage of the toothpaste within.
We don't have to do those cunning stunts as in Mr. Boo (that i had the great pleasure of seeing with Gopa at Vizag) where the young Jackie Chan squeezes it using a door or something on those lines.
Ramana Sadguru also abhorred waste. He would collect all the rice grains that had fallen around and put them back. He would remark that, if He were married, He would have been a very difficult husband!
