This is Civil War Store Card from Milwaukee. Dies sinkers Mossin & Marr were a major source of store cards as well as the more generic 'patriotic' tokens.
This token is difficult to find in uncirculated condition such as this.
Its Fuld catalog number is WI 510 AG-1a (Rarity R7). It is graded MS-65 RB. It was graded by Chester L. Krause, In my opinion, he is easily as reliable as a grader as PCGS or NGC, or ANACS, or anybody. Mr. Krause published the K&M Standard Catalog of World Coins. I would be likely to accept his word about anything 'numismatic.'
Mr. Krause is now 86 years old. He is a major philanthropist in our hobby. He donated $750,000 toward improvement of ANA facilities in Denver, Colorado. His partner in publishing, Clifford Mishler is now running for President of the American Numismatic Association for the 2009-2011 term.
A convention trip to Salt Lake City in 1889 often had a day that began with a program in the tabernacle in Temple Square followed by a train ride to the Garfield Beach bathhouse on the Great Salt Lake.
The token is broad struck (i.e. struck without a collar) likely indicating it is a later restrike from the original dies.
On gala days there are up to 4 trains running.
The driver of BARBARA CURWEN holds out the single line token for the driver of LORD BRAYBROOKE. This ensures that there is only one train at a time on the single line through the woods.
