Marchmont street foundling tokens
They are actually accurate representations of tokens from the nearby Foundling Museum - The museum remembers for posterity the Foundling Hospital, set up in the mid 18th century as a home for unwanted babies who were then raised and educated by the institution. Some of these children were left a token by their mothers as a remembrance which – sadly – they were never given.
Broken-down Soviet war equipment still dots the Panjshir valley here and there; I'm not sure if the ones gathered here were supposed to have been personally captured by Massoud, or what.
In the 1930s these Connecticut Co. trolley tokens sold 3 for a quarter and could be used in place of a dime. The gtrolly line extended down Howard Ave. to S. Water St.

This is the third time I have taken photos of Jeff Warner and the sixth time I have seen him live (including another slot ar this festival), the first in 2006.
