I actually made this whimsical cake for my dad for Father's Day one year. He just can't get enough toast ... or cake.

Our Precious. Earlier times.
Dear friends, we said our final good-byes to Toaster last evening. How fortunate for us to have her presence in our lives for 17 years. Being There at the moment of her birth, and there again as she birthed and provided three wonderful litters of pups. Bless you Toaster, our Precious, such a sweet, gentle leader you were. She lives on in our hearts and we will be continually reminded of her through her pups and in so many other ways.

This is a very old toaster. It has electrical elements inside that cook the toast. Last time it was used was sometime back in the 90's I think. According to one dealer in vintage toasters this one is worth about $85.00 Canadian. And it makes better toast than the new toasters. www.eclectisaurus.com/vintage_appliances_23.html

In the Winter, I tend to do more studio work, and there is nothing in the house that is spared from the agony.

We've published a new article on our site,
here's an excerpt: The Dualit toaster originated from the UK and has been renowned to be the most iconic toasters to have stepped out of English production lines, it is rumored that even the Queen herself uses Dualit toasters.
The manufacturing and production of these heavy duty toasters dwarfs other mainstream...
I thought I would include some bread too. I'm having way too much fun with these collection photos.

My toasters. The three bigger ones came from The August Sale. It is interesting how the two bigger toasters made by different toy companies use the same design except for a tiny difference on the bottoms. It is also interesting how there are multiple toy companies listed on each of those bigger toasters.

This is a vintage General Electric Flip Open Toaster, Circa 1910-1925. One of my little treasures. No fancy bells or whistles, you just flip it open back and front, stick in a piece of bread (probably Wonder bread at that time) and plug it in. No on off switch on this gadget.
Our toaster died last weekend.
This is the new one. It makes bread brown and crispy.
Outrageously over-exposed but I like it.
ODC-Dated Or Date
I acquired this 48 years ago. It is a General Electric Flip Open Toaster, Circa 1910-1925. No wonder this has lasted it is made of extremely heavy metal!
Probably will be a few more GEVO's on here than normal buuuut CPL's. A eastbound NS coal train accelerates past CP Farm after picking up pushers.

I love Breville appliances. They are very well made and I've been buying them for years.
Hillcrest Ace Hardware doesn't actually sell the Hello Kitty toaster. It was on display to advertise some other toasters!
