MM "Hot or Cold" Toaster from the inside
Toasting the toaster, warm bread, delicious, especially on a day with icy cold rain showers like today.

Study for Macro Mondays - Breakfast.
I really liked this idea, but when I went back to the Macro Mondays discussion page and re-read the description, it looked like the subject had to be actual food or drink...
This aircraft is literally known as the "Flying Toaster". You could fit a lot of Pop Tarts in there!

That's right .... I made them in my trusty little Black and Decker toaster oven that is getting pretty old now. Things don't brown evenly and they do take a bit longer ....
It's been used through many a renovation and in times of trouble ..when an oven failed .... like it has now.
Sadly ...my fancy Miele stove oven has failed me. Such a disappointment. It hasn't been working since the week before Christmas ... when fortunately I had just finished baking some Tourtière ... but, did have to beg a neighbour to use hers for the unbaked several batches of cookies and tarts I had ready to go and no oven of my own to use.
Nobody could even come to look at it until Dec 30 ... at which time two guys showed up and decided it is a "relay" of some sort that has conked out. So... now is ordered....but, no word yet on the ETA of such article .........
In today's climate and the situation of ordering and receiving parts, pieces or other items for repairing things..... I can't even hazard a guess as to how long it will be out of action.
I can't bake bread in this little oven...but, I can still do muffins... albeit smaller ones than I usually make.
These are fruited muffins... using raisins, dried apricots and some mixed peel .. so they are a bit festive ....quite tasty.
I'll print out the recipe later today or tomorrow...
Amtrak AEM7 #926 leads a southbound Regional train down track #3 at Arbutus MD on March 30, 2015. This was the final stand for the venerable "toasters" as fans affectionately referred to them. New City Sprinters from Siemens in California were being placed into service each month replacing the 30+ year old AEM7s, so getting one in regular service was becoming a rarity.
Due to the dwindling of decent bamboo stocks ('the bamboo crunch'), Pandah Del tries Panda Toast, and likes it!!!

Abused toaster BNSF 6584 sits on a flatcar at the NS/RSR interchange in Silver Springs, NY on November 24, 2018. I assume this was waiting for the RSR to pick it up and then take it to AMP in Dansville.

I acquired this 48 years ago. It is a General Electric Flip Open Toaster, Circa 1910-1925. No wonder this has lasted it is made of extremely heavy metal!
Wearing scorch marks from a past Disco Toaster episode, the D9-44CW leader on Norfolk Southern train 203 rain into some trouble pretty early into its trip to Atlanta Saturday. What started out as a little black smoke ended up as a full blown plume as the train came through Boiling Springs, PA with turbo issues. With the leader obviously done and the trailing units coated in oil, the train was stopped in Hagerstown and the power set off.
When me and Katie were doing our shoot at Wompatuck we ran into a group of friends who were contributing to the abandoned building's decor. They let me snap a few of them in action :-)
found a gem of an old relic, a dual flip toaster, each side flips out and around to toast both sides, heating coils in center between the two bread holders.

Capturing the energy, so elegantly displayed by the dancing couple in front of the band :-) I was too gob smacked to shoot when she got up on stage at the end of the song and started singing!

I found some toaster bags online a while back, and never knew what to do with them. My friend suggested cutting my muffins (not a euphemism) in half and heating them in the toaster.
The guy's a genius.
I have no clue what the bags are made of, but I don't expect to be around long enough to suffer any long term effects.
