Amanita muscaria, the fly agaric, in its final stages - after starting out as dome then spreading out as a plate it appears the the edges finally fold over revealing the gills.
A tiered chocolate cake for a little girl turning 4. I really enjoyed doing this cake, as you may tell. My favourite bit is the trail of ladybirds.

On acidic-sandy soil with conifers (usually pine). Deadly poisonous, most toxic British toadstool after aminita spp.

Day 26 of October's challenge 'A month in 31 pictures'. I've had an epic fail this year and missed several days, but will try and complete the rest of the month.
The local beech woods were full of toadstools on my walk this afternoon.

These toadstools are enchanting but highly toxic. Fly agaric is a lover of birch woodland, where it helps trees by transferring nutrients into their roots. However, if eaten they can cause hallucinations and psychotic reactions.
Can you help identify this fungus? I’ve tried google but I can’t find a positive match. Any help greatly appreciated.
For the last years, my best spot for toadstools is just around the corner from where I live - in a small patch of beeches on the playground. Too many kids and too many Karens, so they rarely become older than two or three days.
