The timeless allure of the tire swing.

I had just gotten a flat tire, so I pulled over to change the tire but decided to have a bit of fun first and take these picture before doing the work

Years later, I happened to be drinking a flat tire ale while editing. lol

Unwanted, yes, but I was able to get it fixed within a half hour, which did not ruin my day.

Tires, rust, reflections. Couldn't resist this one in the wonderful port of Livorno in Tuscany.

This scene caught my eye because I thought the tires were arranged rather artistically, forming a triangle that leads the eye to the chair. Also, the wall has a yellowish stain, so in this photo you have:

1. three primary colors blue, red and yellow

2. circles, squares and triangles

3. black and white.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting.

The trick is to turn the tire inside out and then wrap it up again. You can achieve multiple results depending on which side you roll first, how much pressure you use and how far you roll.

Photo taken several years ago. For some reason I have always liked this one. Reminds me of all the Iowa farmsteads that have been plowed under and often only a barn or grain bin along with a few trees remain - if that. The black and white photo seems appropriate as I reflect on days gone by when we had neighbors just down the road and farms were 160 acres. New age today and probably a better age but I do miss the times gone by when the countryside was filled with so many families and farms.

Thelma managed to pick up a couple days work at the local service station promoting their tire sale. They later reported that the sale was a huge success.
