He was tired tonight and I was filled with energy. So I headed to DI for a zone session with DI's addicts. Dance Island is always open. There's always a party happening there... and also some of the best dj's on the SL grid either spin there or hang out there.
One night DJ Sabi came in and had all of us on her chim. It was a scream! Anna, Laya, Sander, Isabella, Souji, Katienya, Santia, Gizelle, Hardrain and I (and others) were all dancing in unison to the cool chill house tunes from DJ Risc from Los Angeles. We had a frickn' blast!
You just never know who's going to show up and create the party. Deirdre stopped in tonight and I danced with her for a while. As the owner, Deirdre enjoys hanging out at the club as much as any of us. We are ALL addicted to Dance Island!
I shot this with the Neingrenze 5000T. A VERY rare and out of production digital tilt shift camera. (Very hard to get in the states.)
The lens effect is beautiful. I find it is quite a challenge to shoot with this camera but when a good shot works, it looks like art! : )

when it comes to the doll hobby in general, the biggest complaint i hear from people is that nobody ever comments on their dolls, or their photostories in this case. there are two very important things you have to remember: first, that your opinion matters infinitely more than somebody else's opinion; and second, you are a salesman, selling yourself and your stories to your readers.
one of the most frequent pieces of advice that i give people is that they need to write/post for their own enjoyment before worrying about the enjoyment of others. a lot of people are discouraged when they don't get the attention and comments they want. you have to remember that we are all very small beans in the enormous pot that is DoA (or just the BJD community in general, if you don't frequent DoA) and that people will seek out names they find familiar, either because they see them a lot or people talk about them a lot. it really doesn't matter so much how nice you are, so long as people recognize you. i see a lot of really rotten people being praised by others who have no idea who they actually are... all they know is the person is popular.
don't be discouraged. if you give up and hide in the shadows, of course your name is going to fade into obscurity. just post, and post a lot, and put yourself out there. people will start to recognize your name and acknowledge your existence.
in addition to putting yourself out there, you need people to think you're worth their time. if you have no confidence in yourself, your dolls, your stories, your anything, then what do you expect to happen? if you don't think you're worth somebody else's time, then why should they think you're worth their time? don't sell yourself short.
don't open up your photostory by lamenting over the crappy pics, and how bad of a photographer you are, etc. etc. stop with the apologies. if you feel the need, make a quick comment -- "i wish i had gotten more time before the light started going away!" -- and rather than spending all your time focusing on negatives, turn your negative into a positive -- "i may have to use a crappy camera, but i won't let that stop me!" -- and try to keep it short. if your reader's first experience is essentially a cover blurb telling them how crappy a story is, then they're going to be convinced in advance that the story is bad. also, downing yourself just amounts to fishing for shallow compliments, and those will get you nowhere.
sell yourself without cheapening your worth.
"but i am just not a confident person," you say? you can't spell confidence without con. i can tell you right now, there are a lot of people in this hobby who think i am a huge, arrogant asshole. am i? no, i just try to put up a confident appearance, and people exaggerate it for whatever personal reasons. do i care? hell no.
just keep in mind that this is only a starting point. if you still aren't getting the attention and comments you'd like, be honest when evaluating your abilities and what you need to improve. learn from your mistakes and your faults, and other people's mistakes and faults, and take false compliments with a grain of salt because they are NOT constructive criticism.

This photograph shows the latest fly tipping incident on our nature reserve.
The wheelbarrow shows what was collected and included rusty corrugated tin and burnt wood as well as garden soil.Many similar such incidents have been recorded over a long period in the same area.Whilst collecting this , two black bags were noticed nearby and appear to have been thrown over a garden fence.They contained leaves.
Garden waste has a detrimental effect on nature reserves as it enriches the soil.It can also contain seeds and cuttings from specialised garden plants which can take root and spread further into the reserve; this can be very damaging to the native animals and plants of the heathland.
The discarding of garden waste onto nature reserves is against Bylaw 2(vii) and is ILLEGAL under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and could result in a maximum fine of £20,000.
