My pic was the winner of the daily contest with the theme- Horizons. It had won from among 300+ entries.
Unlike many other sites which depend on voting and response... the winners here are selected on the basis of qualities in the photograph and is judged by Photography gurus of the academy. That makes the contest... unbiased and all the more respected.
A male Orange Tip was fluttering around the front garden this afternoon. I have rarely managed to get this close to these timid creatures. It sat obligingly while I blasted away with the camera. It is certainly late out, having survived a prolonged winter.

This male wet season form Colotis euippe omphale was found at Delville Wood, Shongweni dam NR, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The DSF (winter form) does not have such prominent black bands on the upperside.

Tg Simpang Mengayau a.k.a the Tip of Borneo is located 40 kilometres to the northwest of Kudat town, Sabah. The tip is the meeting point of Sulu and South China Sea. The view is breathtaking from here as this is the northern point of Borneo Island

Return to the Forbidden Planet is a Jukebox musical by playwright Bob Carlton based on Shakespeare's The Tempest and the 1956 science fiction film Forbidden Planet (which itself drew its plot loosely from The Tempest). It was billed as Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece. AND...in 1989 it was the Olivier award Best Musical beating the likes of Miss Saigon!
