TinkerBell who disappeared 2 years ago is slowly settling back in with my other 3 cats (two of whom had joined the family since TB left home). So thankful she returned 3 months ago, in time to re-connect with my dog, TiaMaria, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge 4 weeks ago. You can see TB's left ear is clipped - her badge of Feraldom, when at some time before I domesticated her, she was spayed and returned back to the "wild."

This was our previous cat Tinkerbell. Here in a reflective mood.

Hello There!

While on a neighborhood walk, I spotted Tinkerbell enjoying the sunshine. Now, I don't know if this cat's name was Tinkerbell or not. I chose that name because of the bell on the collar. Anyway, after I took the image and continued my walk, Tinkerbell decided to follow me. I didn't realize she was just behind me for about a block. Thankfully she headed home when I asked her to. What a sweet cat who made my day! Happy Fence Friday! HFF!

Fuchsia flowers from the Summer garden.

So delicate and pretty and in one of my favourite colour-combinations!

Here three different varieties.

Almost 110 species of Fuchsia are recognised; the vast majority are native to South America, but a few occur north through Central America to Mexico, and also several from New Zealand to Tahiti.

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists of shrubs or small trees.

The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1703 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier.

He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs (1501–1566)

The Fuchsia flower has four long, slender sepals and four shorter, broader petals; in many species the sepals are bright red and the petals purple (colours that attract the hummingbirds that pollinate them), but the colours can vary from white to dark red, purple-blue, and even orange...

For those interested, the anatomy is as follows:

1: at the top the green 'stem is the PEDICLE

2: the thicker bit of green is the OVARY

3: then you have the (red here) TEPALS

4: the mauve petals are the COROLLA

5: there are 8 STAMEN/FILAMENTS/ANTHERS

6: And finally: the STYLE or PISTIL, with at the end:

7: the STIGMA: the sticky tip of a flower pistil, on which pollen is deposited at the beginning of pollination.

At the hair salon where my wife gets her hair done the owners have a 60 pound bit bull terrier named Tinkerbell. In spite of her breed she is one of the most friendly, mellow and gentle dogs I ever met and gladly takes head and belly rubs from anyone willing to offer and at over 12years old she gladly loves to take long naps like a cat most of the day and shows her age as she suffers from arthritis and moves stiffly when she gets up as I can sympathize with as I suffer from it too.

I traced Tinkerbell's silhouette from my iPhone. Picked the smallest I can find.. less than 3 inches from tip of wing to toe and still shortened the wings a bit more. Lots of work and lots of pixie dust (glitter).. it's all over me ..and I still can't fly :)
