31262 worked 1V32 a Nottingham via Derby to Plymouth releif on this day. Here's my attempt at timing whilst sitting in the front 4 bay and absorbing the thrash.

The old sprockets were in great shape, though the chain tensioner was previously beyond it's maximum recommended throw so the chain had stretched and I can only imagine the sprockets wore with it so they are new to be on the safe side.

Timing in animation is the speed of an action, it has a rhythm in the action. Timing is important for animation because it sets the time between each key pose, this allows for a realistic feel when animating. Spacing is how each of these frames are spaced out, example above, both balls moving from right to left have the same timing, they have the number of frames each but the spacing of the bottom compared to the top is different. This allows for smoother movements or sharp movements, the bottom will slow out from frame 1, speed up at the middle and slow in at the end. The top will start at the same speed and continue at the same speed until stopped.

Same timing but different spacing can change something from looking jerky and robotic to realistic and believable.
