This is a picture taken at the top of a lift over Bilboa, Spain. Taken on a sunny day. Caught bee mid flight as it was darting around. The camera i had has about a half second delay between pressing the trigger button and taking the shot so I am especially pleased with this shot as I had to estimate where the bee would move. It was a hard bee to keep up with.

I was by the observation area near BWI airport one COLD!!!! January morning. I saw the potential of this angle, set up the tripod, and snapped several images. This is the one that came out the best.

I want it understood - this is not the result of Photosopping; this is pre-visualization and experience in timing the shot (hehehehehe).

Darn Good Timing by Anthony Sandoval

I received the heads up that Iowa Interstate was running a westbound office car special a couple of days ago. At first, I didn't have much hope of seeing it working most of the daytime hours on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Despite that, luck was on my side when UPS called me in for a 4 a.m. start, and a shorter work day today.

It timed out almost perfectly as I punched out about the time IAIS was stopping in Rock Island. I quickly picked Derrek, who hasnt been feeling his best the past couple of days, up from daycare around 2:30. Because of this, it was going to be a one-and-done for us if we caught up. The train departed Rock Island 15 minutes prior to picking him up, and I had a feeling we were going to be playing catch up.

We hit HWY 6 and eventually did catch up just west of Walcott. We ran it down for this shot at the eastern edge of Durant, one of my favorite spots when we lived in Muscatine.

The light was excellent at this time of day, and this turned out to be a nice snap of a move that only happens a couple times a year.

Like the story of the Three Bears and the porridge, one bowl was too hot, one bowl was too cold and one bowl was just right. It's the same waiting for just the moment to depress the shutter to get an image 'just right'... One wave is too fast, one wave is too slow, and one wave is just right for a great image. Unfortunately this one was too slow, or the trigger finger on the shutter button was too fast!
