Here is an excerpt from the 1973 N&W Moberly Division Timetable regarding special instructions pertaining to the Traffic Control System (i.e., CTC) between Outer Depot and Moberly. Reading between the lines it is obvious that what the N&W is now calling CTC is really the old Wabash Manual Block Remote Control (MBRC) system. The unique signal aspects and indications used by the MBRC system make for interesting reading. The Wabash timetables contained more detailed special instructions about the MBRC signal system, but did not include any diagrams or descriptions of the non-standard signals that were used.
Probably the most hated franchise at the time, Central Trains was another National Express service. Became London Midland and East Midlands Trains.
