I'm building the kite aerial photography timer circuit from Make magazine vol 2, and this is the prototype. I changed the circuit a bit from the magazine, because sometimes just keeping the kite up for more than a minute is a challenge. :) I used a 2 MΩ trimpot in series with a 680K resistor to adjust the timer interval from between 20 and 40 seconds.
Yay, it works!

BACKSTORY: We had known about the DC Trans Ladies meetups for awhile, but we had never gone before. Now that Clio was officially out as trans, we went to the DC Trans Ladies Halloween Soiree meetup. It was a costume party, so Clio wore her Sexy Robin costume (and fake boobs--for the last time in at least 8 months), and Carolyn wore a Midnight Angel costume we bought at a yardsale.

I keep forgetting to turn off the ventilation fan in the washroom after taking a shower. So instead I bought a replacement switch that has timer buttons. After the specified time the fan will be turned off.
Time flies like the wind!
