TIM the beaver is the mascot character of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where I did my undergraduate schooling and learned to design origami. I designed the first origami version of TIM in 2010, and just redesigned it now in 2014. The new version uses paper more efficiently, boasts a cleaner design visually, and I'm pretty happy with the current improvements.
Tim does some really interesting work imho. This is a small work from him - normally much (much!) bigger.
Tim Horton, who played in the Canadian National Hockey League, from 1949 until his death in an auto crash in 1974 was the founder of the Tim Horton restaurant chain. The chain's first doughnut store opened on May 17, 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario

To Tim's tremendous work:
Here's a photo of Tim and Harbie (pretending to be a reindeer in December) uploaded to celebrate Tim's 65th birthday! He's suffering from a cold at the moment and it's wet and windy so we're having a lazy day, but the Amsterdam trip was for him.

Tim decided to photobomb a photo I was trying to take of Matt and Sophie! Although Tim was in a jolly mood yesterday, he's a bit fed up at the moment having had no voice for the last week. He also has had a lump come up on his temple, which is a bit of a concern. The hospital had said a few months ago to contact them direct if any lumps appear, but they never returned his calls. Luckily last week the GP managed to get an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully they will find nothing sinister, but the laryngitis is making him frustrated (although we're rather enjoying the peace!!)

So I'm out and about on a chilly Tuesday morning, and I run into this guy who's just having too much fun. Well, not really. He's homeless and was hungry, but he has a great attitude just the same. Having worked for several years as a healthcare provider in the homeless community, I kinda have a weak spot for these folks. But ya know, a late morning snack and some pleasant conversation can go a long way in making anyone's day a little bit better.

Tim took this when we went out for a meal with my Mum! I'm dead jealous that he took it and not me,with my camera too! But from my angle I couldn't see what he could see!

Tim's in the limelight today (or rainbow light!) cos it's his birthday today! Oh, and it's his 64th - queue song!
"When I get older, losing my hair. Many years from now, Will you still be sending me a valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three, Would you lock the door? Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty four?" (Lyrics from the Beatles, one of Tim's favourite bands)
Erie, PA. July 2017.
