I' was trying to get this technique through photoshop but I'm having trouble perfecting it. This is an old picture of mine reworked.

Week 6 theme: Landscape

03.02.2013

I am way behind. I had a series of close/open shifts and didn't have time to edit or post photos. Now I am in Columbus, Ohio getting ready to open the newest edition to the Whole Foods family. This morning I woke up at 2am and hit the road with John Tony of the P-Street Seafood fame. Normally I would have left much later but thanks to some poor planning by the Washington D.C. department of transportation traffic gets out of control by a very early hour. We got to Ohio safe and sound just in time to get dumped on by snow. Awesome.

Body: Canon Rebel XT

Lens: TS-E 45mm f/2.8

Exposure: 13 sec

Aperture: F/10

ISO: 800

Selective focus applies in PS to give a tilt/shift effect.

This is the only purpose-taken 'model' photo. There was a sign up here (on the top level of the T3 car park) that told us not to 'loiter' and to 'move on swiftly'. That's a bit anti plane spotter I think. We were dropping off Mrs M for a trip to SFO (i.e. the airport Hilton).

Week 8 theme: Underneath

A wise man once said, "I'm going to go fondle my sweaters." What it means is irrelevant. It's power comes from the way it makes you feel when you hear the words. When I hear them I feel like I am involved in an imaginary phone call with Michael J. Fox. We are talking about making a movie. The movie is a sequel to The Secret of My Success. The title of the movie is The Secret of My Success 2. Pretty snazzy, right? The budget will be huge. The cast will be huge. Everything about it will be huge. It will be a monument to America. When it drops you all better watch out.

Playing with depth of field to get a tilt-and-shifted lens effect. This is part of Sintra village, near Lisbon, in Portugal.
