I spent the day today at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster. They've currently got three tiger cubs who are very cute indeed, and photogenic.
Singapore Zoo.
White tiger (Panthera tigris) or tigers of mixed Bengal/Amur ancestry have pink noses, white-to-creme coloured fur and black, grey or chocolate-coloured stripes. White Bengal tigers eyes are usually blue (photo), but may be green or amber (www.animalcorner.co.uk/rainforests/bengalwhite.html).
The white tiger or bleached tiger is a pigmentation variant of the Bengal tiger, which is reported in the wild from time to time in the Indian states of Madhya Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal and Bihar in the Sunderbans region and especially in the former State of Rewa. All of whom can trace their ancestry back to 'Mohan', a White Bengal tiger caught in Rewa, India in 1951.
For a white Bengal tiger to be born, both parents must carry the unusual gene for white colouring, which only happens naturally about once in 10,000 births.
A white tiger's pale coloration is due to the lack of the red and yellow pigments that normally produce the orange color ( Xu, et al., 2013)
Absolutely love Tigers, waited all day for this shot of him because he was hiding all day but spotted him high in the trees just before going home, i was thinking the sun had just come out for the first time all day he was watching for the sunset. LOL
This one was sitting on our fence. Ruby tigers like warm and dry summers. This year they should be happy.

I was less than 2 metres away when I took this shot at Marwell Zoo. The tiger came to watch a guy who had started to mow some grass outside the enclosure.
This could be the start of my entry into WW2 builds, no not my Tiger I, that was just me trying it out :^)
Während der Löwe auf meinem Bild "König der Löwen" ja richtig nett aussieht, gibt es beim Tiger gar keinen Zweifel, was der mit mir machen würde...
While the lion looks like a nice guy, there is no doubt what the tiger will do with you!

a female bengal tiger in its prime years walking along a creek, a quite impressive sight...Ranthambhore NP, India
I photographed these two tiger cubs on November 9, 2017 at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. I wished they were not up against a wire fence, but at least their eyes were open, and they did move from time to time. Really cute to watch.
According to the San Diego Union Tribune on October 17, 2017: "The 12-week-old Bengal tiger cub was brought to the park in August after a teenager tried to smuggle it into the U.S. from Mexico. The 14-week-old Sumatran cub was born at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., but its mother was becoming aggressive toward him when nursing. When word of the other seized orphan cub spread, the two zoos decided to put the tigers together as playmates."
Other pictures that I've taken over the years at Safari Park can be seen, logically enough, in my Safari Park album. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628351207247/
