On the island of Milos, Greece is an amazing beach - Sarakiniko. Beautiful rock formation, great swimming and cliff jumping, and tidal pools too. Wonderful
"Movies, after all, are only an illusion of motion comprised of thousands of still photographs. The imagination, however, moves with its own tidal flow."
— Stephen King

Through a narrow 300-metre wide gap roar the tidal flows from the otherwise land-locked waters of Seymour and Belize Inlets. With the benefit of the Naiad’s two big 700 horsepower engines, we travelled right up to this vantage point of the 13.4 knot ebb tide with huge whirlpools that should alarm any sea captain.
In the middle of the gap is Tremble Island which quite literally trembles with the power of these tides.
The rapids were discovered by explorers under the command of Captain Pender in 1865 and named for the local Indian tribe.

The water mirror in the foreground is a natural tidal lagoon (seawater "left behind" by the ebbing tide, cut off from the open sea at low tide)
Sometimes seascape photography comes with the acceptance that things could get wet! Cape Breton,Canada
unset and low tide at Rodeo Beach. A rockfall in the past year transformed this section of beach and added many more rocks. I sort of preferred it the way it was but if there's one thing I know for certain it's that nature doesn't care what I think.
Little Espinosa Inlet, west of Tahsis, Vancouver island. Note the way the estuarine deposits of Mamat Creek, coming in from the right, branch and extend two ways as the tidal currents (obviously anthropogenically modified by the logging road and bridge) modify fluvial deposition.
Looks like there was a photoshoot going on at the old Davenport Pier with a model swinging on the first structure.
