I am still playing with my new Color Efex Pro 4 plugin from Nik Software. This is another masked together image from 3 separately exposed frames.

Cool place!

A depression on the other side of a shallow spit causes confusion, not least for the photographer who narrowly avoided another bootfull!

A large square of concrete revealed by the out going tide on Teignmouth beach

A serene view of the Rauðisandur beach in Iceland’s remote Westfjords, where the tide recedes to reveal vast mirror-like sands. The subtle hues of blue and brown blend with the moving clouds, creating an endless sense of calm and open space.

Descrizione (Italiano):

County Clare, Ireland

La Jolla has some of the most intresting tide pools, during low tides you can see an array of sea life in these small tide pools. I did a long exposure after sunset to bring out the light in the sky and emphasize the foregrounds cooler temp color. #sunset #landscapephotography #seascape #landscape #lajolla #tidepools #tide #lowtiide #sandiego #sunsetsaturday

My last outing took me back to the enchanting Terence Bay Lighthouse to capture the Milky Way. I’m almost done editing the video, so stay tuned for that. After taking several shots of the lighthouse, I ventured to the water's edge to find the perfect composition—a challenging task in the dead of night. I was drawn to the seaweed-covered rocks as a foreground element.

It was a magical night, spent gazing at the stars and listening to the gentle waves lap against the rocks. A bit of haze lingered in the air, catching an orange cast from a hidden building's lights, adding an unexpected glow to the scene.

The waves crash over the rocks at Salt Pond Beach Park on Kauai, HI and leave small tidal pools that create beautiful reflections.

The waves can move over the entire rock formation so I slowed down the shutter to capture any movement or in this case to create the essence of still water. The clouds and colors of the sunset reflect just beautifully!

Great location to visit, Wilsons Promontory, this specific location is at Norman Bay (Beach) the Tidal River is connected to this, hence 'Tidal' -- I was here at the wrong time photographically speaking, but sometimes we can only do what we can when doing the 'tourist thing'

My first of the year, Happy New Year all :)

I seem to have lost my passion and enthusiasm during the dark months.

Two people have inspired me to post, one that I met was Damian, the other who sent me a little prod is my lovely contact Michelle

It was an honour to meet Damian, he gave me the greatest surprise gift ever. Damian has been exhibiting some work of his in Barrow in Furness and his exhibition pieces were truely phenomenal. I'd have travelled half the World to see his magical artwork and with his such friendly company the day was one I'll always beable to smile about. I got to meet his angel daughter Kira who was the most intelligent and biggest delight I could hope to meet.

Thank you for the prod Michelle, I've been out today taking Swan photographs. Mute Swans by the way, the same as yours :)

River Lune,

Lancaster.

I loved the pattern of these tidal pools and rivulets on the beach -- and the fog, and the strong cold wind, and the emptiness of the beach, and ...

A micro landscape from Albion Sands in the southwest of Pembrokeshire. I just loved the smootness of the water against the rugged rocks with the cliffs in the distance.

A beautifully reflective Tidal Pool forms as the water recedes on the beach at Cape Henlopen in Lewes, Delaware.

The scorching heat from the sun was unbearable but the intense light brought out the unique curves of the building on that day.

Tidal Flat Reflections. Point Reyes National Seashore, California. July 23, 2017. © Copyright 2017 G Dan Mitchell - all rights reserved.

Blue sky reflected in channels on tide flats, Point Reyes National Seashore

In late July I spent a day at Point Reyes National Seashore, a location that is probably just within a reasonable one-day out-and-back drive for me. (And, yes, on occasion I indulge in completely unreasonable drives to photograph certain special subjects, but that's a story for a different post.) From looking at weather forecasts, I was hopeful that I would arrive early enough to grab a fresh pastry at Point Reyes Station (success!), make it out to the Seashore before the fog cleared (success!), and then photograph as it cleared away (less success!). I never did break completely out of the fog, and the final destination of my daylong hike was pretty thoroughly socked in.

But along the way there was some interesting light, combined with some fortunate timing. My hike took me along Drakes Estero, the large, shallow estuary that extends inland from the beaches surrounding Drakes Bay. I had not checked the tides before going, but it turned out that I arrived at a rather low tide, and the water had retreated far enough to leave the mudflats high and dry, broken only by twisting channels where a bit of water remained. The fog directly overhead darkened the mud flats, but the water reflected the blue sky from an area of clearing further in the distance. Once again, it was good fortune that made a photograph possible — these abstract blue patterns could only occur at low tide, with fog overhead, and with blue sky at the fog/clear boundary nearby.
