While I exploring this new location I took this picture of a tidal pool reflecting the shoreline as well as the trees. Only when I looked at it on the screen I realized how much the barnacles etc acted like a perfect 'milky way' ;-) It's astonishing how patterns repeat in nature.
Rissa tridactyla
This juvenile bird appeared on the tidal creek at Walberswick midway through our gull session - it showed extremely well, despite being harassed by assorted dogs and children!
“You don’t need to be the tide to rise and fall,
you don’t have to be a wave to touch the shore;
just be a little sand-grain and feel them all”

I'm working on so much this weekend, like preparing 10 days of giveaways that begin tomorrow. Over $8,000 worth of giveaways...all to celebrate my 10 year photography anniversary. I count that as the first day I uploaded an image to Flickr. It's a very big deal for me. I celebrate it more than holidays or birthdays because this one is self-made, something I stuck with for a full decade, entirely committed the whole time.
I'm very excited to celebrate that with you. I'm even going to LA next week to film a little something with the folks at Flickr to celebrate further! Lots to look forward to in the next 10 days!
...this one is gonna hurt tomorrow! lol - don't worry, no avocets were harmed in the making of this image ;-)
Chatted with the very talented Rod (blue fin art) when taking this image which is actually the second time we have met whilst out and about.
Don't head butt the rocks !!!
Austinmere Baths on Austinmere Beach near Wollongong NSW Australia
for the HDR (pool) no pun intended :)
You may have guessed that I'm in love with Paddy's Hole. This quaint little harbour on South Gare, Redcar is beautiful at any time of day. I love the juxtaposition of old world and industrial landscapes. I returned, later in the day, in search of reflections!
The North Atlantic is seen here swirling around rocks on a sandy beach during an ebb tide. In the foreground the colour of the sand beneath the waves comes through whilst further out the ocean's colours dominate. To me, the long exposure gives the scene a sense of smoky dynamism.
Sango Sands Beach is a small sandy cove with scattered rocky outcrops that is a photographer's paradise as the tide recedes, exposing more and more rocks further down the beach.
Durness (Scottish Gaelic: Diùranais) is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. It lies on the north coast of the country in the traditional county of Sutherland around 190 km north of Inverness. The area is remote and the parish is huge and sparsely populated covering an area from east of Loch Eriboll to Cape Wrath, the most north-westerly point of the Scottish mainland.

Calm sunrise near Karlshamn, Sweden. It was the last our morning in Sweden during our Scandinavian trip. I had found several beautiful places while was walking with my kids on the shore art the evening. Morning was calm and quiet. Just the perfect condition for this shot with the tidal pool on the foreground.
In this photograph the fine black lines are from the black sections of the sedimentary rocks. I have read that these unusual Obsidian-like rock layers were formed from the vast vegetation growth existing at the geological time of the formation of the Pyrenean mountain range.
Sunset at Walpole bay tidal pool.
Lot's of people enjoying themselves.
