And the incredible staff of Portland Center Stage!

Hajvery University (HU) Career Development Society (CDS) held an event for the motivation and emotional support of the youth mainly the students of Hajvery University. The event catered to anybody who cared to attend and listen to the wonderful speaker, be it the youth or even a 70 year old could benefit from the pearls of wisdom scattered on that wonderful day. The speaker was Qaiser Abbas. Pakistan’s highest paid motivational speaker and probably a pioneer of what he does in our country. And the author of International Best-seller ‘Tick Tick Dollar’.

The environment was electric and for the first time in a while everybody attending the event was expecting quite nice things to come their way. This was the reason the auditorium was packed. The theme was DREAM BIG AND HAVE BELIEF. His speech was highly motivational he said nobody in your life tells you your potential but always it’s you who should belief in his own potential. That belief led you to dream big one night and bigger the next night. But dreaming was not everything, to back up those dreams; you have to work day and night, tirelessly and ferociously towards his goals. Students energies renewed, their picture about their selves totally changed and changed for the good.

Hajvery University (HU) is one of the leading Universities in Lahore. HU is Chartered by Govt. Of Pakistan, Accredited by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) and rated W category. HU is a progressive, Student Centric University, focused on offering rigorous, market driven courses in Business, Fashion, Engineering, Computer sciences, Textile Design, Media Studies, Economics, Commerce, Pharmacy & English. After dragging, the drag is inspected for ticks. Ticks removed with sharp forceps can be placed in an alcohol vial for preservation and for future investigation. For more information about tick dragging and ticks: hdl.handle.net/1813/43844

Ticks were collected using a tick drag, which is a great way to find out whether there are ticks in an area you plan to spend time. Learn more: nysipm.cornell.edu/whats-bugging-you/ticks/tick-faqs/#que...

Impressive. We rarely see blue.

Yes, I actually dismantled a clock to get inside.

Hmmm, I just learned the neighborhood is not safe.

I am simply...the Tick!

365. Day one.

I should have started yesterday. But I'll start on the second. I've already busted two of my three new years resolutions and I'm two days into the year. Worked 11 hours today. Would have stayed later but the pizza man didn't show up and I was hungry.

Last year was tough for many reasons. I'm not sure what this year will bring. Might as well photodocument the [descent into] madness!

And the incredible staff of Portland Center Stage!

A model of Dr. Emanuel Proctocus' dreaded Tick-Tock Men. A fully autonamous mechanical man which, in real life, would stand 30 feet tall.

6/20/08

Leo was able to knock the tick off his leg; it was a dog tick like this one.

The next day, after running out of clean clothes in Brooklyn, I had to put on the same shorts I wore while camping near here. Within about an hour I had a deer tick stuck in my left leg. We were at the park watching a softball game and I asked a spectator (and friend of Michelle) if she had a pair of tweezers, since I had a pretty serious situation to deal with.

After a few minutes of tweezer and cigarette lighter work, I was able to remove the bastard. I sterilized the tweezers carefully and repeatedly with the lighter, cleaned them on my shirt, etc.

When I tried to return the tweezers and thank her for her generosity, she looked at me as if I was trying to hand her a syringe loaded with HIV, the black plague, and possibly some other unknown scourges long since wiped off the face of the earth. Michelle claimed that before becoming a Brooklyn-ite that her friend was from the backwoods of Maine.

They must not have ticks in her part of Maine, or perhaps she's been in Brooklyn too long.

At least the clocks will tell the correct time twice a day!

mickey mouse in a house.

Postcard - Image from the Octopode factory on etsy, background stamped, painted, inked, doodled and collaged. Thanks for looking!!

First off, I must say this is dead. It is the first and probably only dead bug on white that I've posted/will ever post. I've never posted pictures of dead bugs except for if it was a caterpillar that was mummified by a wasp or something.

Imagine my concern when I looked into the covered container next to my bed that this guy was in, and it was empty. Luckily, I found it slowly crawling across my desk in the direction of my bed. Originally I found this crawling across the living room floor where I had been sorting out my finds the night before. When I finally came around to photographing this guy, it was dead. Which is a shame since I hate ever posting pictures of dead bugs. The only reason I even photographed it at all is the same reason I saved it in the first place - It's a medium sized tick and much longer/thinner in shape compared to every other tick I've seen.

I like you you can see the mouthparts, I guess that saw in the middle is how it cuts into you and stays lodged in your skin while it sucks your blood.

I bought this years ago on eBay...I think it might be kind of rare/hard to find, because I've never seen another one like it.

And fear not, Tick fans! I still have MORE Tick photos to upload after the holidays! :D
