Sedos presents tick, tick... BOOM! a musical about the courage it takes to follow your dreams, at the Bridewell Theatre 15-19 September 2015.
This is Jonathan Larson’s (author of Rent) autobiographical tale of a young composer on the brink of turning 30 and falling into oblivion. His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city (tick,), his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue (tick…), yet Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical (BOOM!).
Fourteen songs, multiple characters, and a band, tick, tick… BOOM! embraces the universal ideal of holding onto your dreams through life’s most difficult challenges.

You slide the tick into that little notch and pull up slowly.
It has always taken out the whole tick when Ive used it, no mouth parts left behind or anything.

This pageant is about precious moments in time that are all captured by the family clock. Artastic will explore this theme in three parts: Body, Mind and Soul. The clock face represents ‘Body’, our house and the shelter it provides. The cogs and pendulums represent the emotional heart and ‘Mind’. And although the very essence of the clock is to record time, the ‘Soul’ of our family lies in the record of family memories, past and present and the anticipation of future generations.
Artastic is a street spectacle company based in Kildare, under the artistic direction of Vijaya Bateson and Caitriona McGowan. Their track record in conceiving new works and engaging a range of community groups is a testament to their passion for contemporary street theatre.

I couldn't find the rubbing alcohol so I used lysterine, this tick died in less than a minute.
Lysterine doesn't just kill bad breath germs I guess :P
This bugger bit my dog in the front leg-pit area and I'm lucky to notice as I don't exactly pet him there often.
This photograph was taken using a Scanning Electron Microscope. It is the hindsection of a Tick photographed at a high magnification.

Seeing this attraction at other parks, the WDW version seems unimpressive stuck inside the tournament style building. But the full flooded building gives a cool and unique indoor boat ride.

This 8mm long tick was found by a friend on one of her horses' heads (between its ears) in Sedlescombe, Sussex ,UK..
I would be grateful if anyone can suggest what species it might be.
