thunderstorm on 6/5/11

This afternoon's thunderstorms formed just off of Amelia Island. You're seeing the anvil top of the storm with hints of refracted sunlight (sun dogs) just above the cloud and cumulonimbus mammatus just below the top (the bumpy part). Yulee, out to just past I-95, got dumped on.

There was a pretty epic thunderstorm for Santa Clarita a couple weeks back.

I was at Port Warwick's Styron Square, in Newport News, Virginia, attending an outdoor concert. It was called off because a fast moving severe Thunderstorm was moving in.

The early, warm spring, turned into a long hot dry summer. Major drought in the midwest and great plains. We had very few thunderstorms, and this was one of them, around May 19th.

Thunderstorms developed along a Lake Breeze coming off Lake Michigan on Friday August 14 2015. Eastern WI took a beating from some of the storms, leaving a lot of damage and several thousands of people without power. Some nice structure with these.
