Ok NYC crew, here's my Throwback Friday for ya. Picture taken in 1996. This was (and still is) my best friend Erin. I wore the crap out of that Georgia Tech hat, and stil have it somewhere.

In the early 50's DeGrazia started working on ceramics. This is when he perfected his copper-based glaze. NBC studios recorded a newsreel, called 'Watch the World,' where they filmed DeGrazia and Marion making these ceramics. He used original molds and his inspirations were taken from desert shapes and colors. Happy Throwback Thursday!

Moving some of my old favorites from photobucket to flickr.

The black and white photograph on the left was taken Nov. 9, 1928, at the U.S. Coast Guard Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Mrs. I.W. Buckalow, far right, of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, and other members of the League of Coast Guard Women, placed a wreath on the memorial, according to the original caption. The Coast Guard Memorial was dedicated May 23, 1928. Above the Coast Guard motto Semper Paratus (meaning "Always Ready"), is a bronze seagull with its wings uplifted. The seagull symbolizes the tireless vigil that the U.S Coast Guard maintains over the nation's maritime territory. The color photograph was taken in a similar location, Aug. 4, 2015. I rarely do throwbacks but now that Christmas was just less than a month away, why not do a throwback Christmas! The left pic shows me sitting on Santa's lap. I was still in elementary school at that time... And the right pic shows one of the holiday picture frames I made in elementary school, with a couple of my young pics on there. It was also like a mirror selfie of 'then and now' lol.

Oh the good ol' times... I wish I was young again lol. Hope you guys have a nice and safe holiday season!

Halloween, 1989. I'm 6 years old.

I'm Tina Turner, natch. my parent say I had such a love for Tina, every time one of her songs would come on, I would stand up and yell "Tina Turner, that's my GIRL!"

In 1944, Ted DeGrazia buys property on the corner of Prince and Campbell Road in Tucson, Arizona with only $25.00 down. There he builds his first adobe studio. Happy Throwback Thursday!

It tasted so good. I wish they hadn't printed the throwback banner on all the cans. Really makes it hard to use in my 80's movie remakes.

DeGrazia demonstrated his talents in the studio of NBC’s Today show in 1960 and received this letter from producer Robert J. Northshield. “I enjoyed your appearance on the TODAY show this morning very much and I am most anxious to let you know how grateful I am for your help. I rarely get a chance to get to the studio during the taping of the show, but I watch it on a closed circuit in my office and again, with my family each morning. Your performance was enjoyable in both instances. Thank you again from the entire staff of TODAY.” Happy Throwback Thursday!

When I married I had two lovely little nieces on my hubby's side of the family. I felt very proud being an aunt. The other day one of them posted an old photo of a "playing dress up" day, and tonight I just had to try it. Not the best, but was really fun working from an old photo. Nieces are

In the 1940’s DeGrazia's post-Impressionist style began to evolve with a visit to Tahiti to study the works of French painter Paul Gauguin. Happy Throwback Thursday!
