Here's a snap my dad took of me during our trip to Chicagoland. I want to say this was in '99 but I'm not sure. I was mad cause I wanted to turn around and watch the train, nowadays I'm glad I didn't :-)

PS I was too cool to tie my shoes so I had velcroes

This week we are going back nine years to 2016, and to AV 295 on Westmoreland Street with a terminating service on route 79.

Route 79 started running between the city centre and Ballyfermot in 1949, with its western terminus initially on Kylemore Road. In 1985 it was extended to Cherry Orchard Avenue, and around 1994 its terminus became Spiddal Park. The route ceased to operate in 2022 when it was partially replaced by route 60 under Bus Connects.

AV 295 was new to Dublin Bus in 2003. It was withdrawn in 2017, and sold on to another operator.

On the left can be seen the tram tracks being laid as part of the Luas Cross-City. This opened in late-2017, and this location became the Westmoreland tram stop.

this is me an my best friend from 4th grade all through school standing in front of my dad's old geo tracker.

there was a time right after 8th grade our phone was cut off at home and my dad for some reason didn't have a phone at his place a few blocks away either. BUT he had a car phone. haha! me and willie would sit in the garage listen to wu tang and the chronic and call up our girlfriends.

i think it said "low emotions" on the window. My older adopted brother Tony did all the work. OH, my pops had a little night club in the city if your wondering why he would have a car like this. you could hear the bass from the system about 4 blocks away. BOOM!

I am mad impressed with the old vintage look I managed to give this photo!! *squels*

This week we are going back thirty-eight years to 1986 and to KC 89 at Bray Staton. The bus is dressed for route 85.

CIE started running route 85 between Bray and Enniskerry in 1945. From around 1976 to around 1986, the route also served Oldcourt in Bray, and then from around 1986 it served Ballywaltrim. In December 1995 the route became route 185, with minibuses taking over. In 2018, Go-Ahead Ireland took over the operation of route 185.

KC 89 was new to CIE in 1984. It was withdrawn by Dublin Bus around the year 2000.

In April 2024, work started on a new bus interchange at the front of Bray Daly Station.
