A late G16 moves north through South LaGrange, Maine, a former chip transload and before then major Bangor & Aroostook location. Here now just a few trees stand tall amongst the red trio CP GP38-2s.
I like evening’s golden light so I hike at that time. In this case everything is in shadow except the rocks in the distance. This scene can be found along Red Reefs Trail within Red Rocks National Conservation Area near Leeds, Utah.

Little better than record captures, as the light was dismal and there was no time to check, or amend camera settings, but it was fun to watch this Red Kite being chased by an angry Rook!
This see through mesh lycra spandex mini dress hugs every last inch of what if covers! ...and it doesn't cover all that much either!

Fun with my new lens.
The apartment is getting unbearably hot right now. We decided to block over the windows with contact paper and purchased a ladder to get at them. After Caitlin finished the first window, she “showed” Gibson his new perch. Eventually he figured how to get to the top of it. When he did, I noticed a wonderful shape and excitedly asked Caitlin to grab Gibson’s attention. I stood right under the ladder and snapped these shots right through toward him.
I like how the lines of the ladder lead you to the circle and the circle frames Gibson’s eyes as he looks at me. The lens of his eyes reflects the pattern reflecting off my lens right at him.
The ladder is 8 feet high so the base of the steps are about 2 feet in front of my lens. Good thing the 18-200mm focuses so close. In fact, I could have gotten away with being a half a foot closer.
I love this lens.

1 oz white rum
1 oz Jamaican dark rum
1 oz Bacardi® 151 rum
3 oz orange juice
3 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 oz grenadine syrup
crushed ice
Combine all ingredients, mix well (shake or stir). Pour over crushed ice in hurricane glass. Best enjoyed through a small straw. Garnish with fruit wedge if desired
Sit back and relax

Funny that the first thing i should post from my new camera is a video and not a photo. I bought the older album of Au Revoir Simone off of itunes over the weekend and it was playing in the background while I shot this, so it seemed fitting to set the video to it.

Through the last centuries Palazzo Salis has always been owned by the Conti Sertoli Salis family. The architecture of the palace develops on a structure with a late-fifteenth-century façade, flanked by two towers, with a central baroque portal.

In Tignon for Ayda Weddo, Firelei Báez overlays symbolic imagery, calligraphic patterning, and gestural painting as a means of engaging with the cultural history of the African diaspora. The background features an architectural plan of the American Sugar Refinery's New Orleans filter house. As the largest US-based sugar refining business in the early 1900s, it had significant economic interests in Puerto Rico and other Caribbean locations and its operations took a great physical toll on the many Black laborers it exploited. In addition to referencing the land where sugarcane was grown, Báez uses trees and plant life as embodied symbols of cultural memory and knowledge. The entwined serpent form references Ayda- Weddo, a spirit (loa) derived from Vodou traditions in Benin, West Africa, and brought by enslaved peoples to Haiti and New Orleans. Ayda-Weddo forms a tignon, a head covering once worn by Creole women of African descent in Louisiana. Tignons resulted from a 1786 law that required Creole women of African descent to wear head coverings in public. Resisting such imposed limitations, Black women transformed their tignons into elaborately adorned fashion statements and vibrant markers of cultural pride.
Space shuttle Challenger presents a surrealistic impression as it moves through the fog on its way out the 3.5-mile crawlerway toward Launch Pad 39A. Challenger completed the trip from the Vehicle Assembly Building in preparation for its first launch.
