ODC-Sew Sew Sew

This is where all the action happens!

The cramped nature of the station can be appreciated here. The line seems to have been threaded through the town on the narrowest of shelves above the fast flowing River Dee

Inspired by other vintage thread images on Flickr I couldn't resist doing another version with my vintage thread.

Fragile Threads

by Victoria Frazior, 1998

Our lives, embroidered into the fabric of time,

Nearly invisible in the length and breadth of space;

We execute our creation, stitch by stitch

Hoping for glory in its making.

We bind our memories, our dreams and our hopes

In tiny fragile threads,

Across the uncertain terrain of our lives.

Together we find courage and strength

To face our task at hand

Seeking solace in our quest

As those who have the eyes to see

And the ears to hear.

Taken for 'The Saturday Self Challenge': "Mono Macro"

Working on taming the wild nest of floss in my bin by winding it on clothespins.

eight minutes and 20 seconds and 93 million miles after leaving the sun, these rays threaded the needle through the perforations of this single oak leaf, directly to me.

The red and white ones caught on in the 1930s through the 1950s because a colorfast red thread was created, which didn't bleed in the wash. Funny, I had clothes that bled in the 60s and 70s.

Exploring my grandmother's button box, I found a curved needle and a metal button and started playing.

I got this lot of Anchors and some other threads(plus some fabric) from a DA friend of mine :D

A fragile yet powerful masterpiece woven by nature — the spider’s web. Captured in stunning detail, this image reveals the quiet architecture of survival, art, and beauty hidden in plain sight. A reminder that even in darkness, brilliance shines.

Abandoned Singer Sewing Machine with thread collection.

After noticing the interesting shadow a piece of floss made under artificial light, I experimented with white thread on white paper. I rotated the paper in the morning sun and watched the shadows change. I tried a couple with black thread, and liked those better, then tried colored thread. It was so interesting to see how the shadows looked so different than the string that made them.

An Re 10/10 led intermodal scoots through the short 88 metre Mühle tunnel and traverses the first of the three crossings of the Meienreuss river it will make on its run up through the Wassen village. The train is about to enter the 300 metre Kirchberg tunnel below the church of Wassen.

Strangely (for this locale and for me), it was sunny for my entire visit, but quite hot and very humid, with a visible blue haze in the air which is visible around the peak of Chli Windgällen in the distance.

Even though my Ordinary Object set is finished, I will continue to photograph those simple things that interest me. I love spools of thread and this large beehive like cone of thin yarn (is there a name for it?) caught my eye at an estate sale and I bought it. I found the entire shape of it so simple and sculptural it has found a place on my desk and I will be photographing more of it.

I`d Like to start with this post, the first in a series of posts related to the color pink. Regardless of style or trend or brand, the common thread will be the color pink (in its infinite shades).

In addition, I will continue to wear headpieces inspiration.

Advertised in 2015, this Sierra Ghia was a one-owner-from-new car with 36k miles on the clock. Upon the original owner's death, the family put the Sierra in a garage for a while. They were unsure what to do with the car but feared selling it in case it was banger raced or the condition was led to deteriorate.
