This branch on a street tree outside the Tin Cat Cafe was wrapped all over with orange neon string. The other branches and trunk were also wrapped in yellow and green string.
In the background, a jacarandah tree is covered with purple blooms.

No one knew quite where the Thread came from.
A visual remnant of a whisper
A secret between plant tips
One connection of many
In a forest of consciousness
So delicate, like a thought
You can barely remember
Just on the tip of your mind
Was the thread really there?
Perhaps, imagined into existence
Look away during a gust of wind
And it's gone...
A bit like us to a mountain or an ocean or a large redwood tree.
Maybe we should all just stop fighting.
And find the thread between us.

hundreds of strings hanging from the ceiling, little embroidered cups hang from each, I slide around on my back and when I saw the light ;o) I shot and kept speeding the shutter to get the starburst affect I wanted.

3cm/1.18 inches across the frame. The Laowa 60mm lens magnifies by two, so that this appears larger than it measures. Measurement in first comment.

Beneath the tree, they softly hum,
And to the thread, all worlds succumb.

Water and stone are in constant dialogue - shaping one another through movement and time. This image, Threads of Water, opens the chapter The Dance of Water and Stone in my new book Artwork of Nature.
In this chapter, I explore how water carves the land over years and centuries, from gentle ripples to dramatic, sculpted formations. Each photograph reflects that ongoing exchange between two of nature’s strongest forces — a reminder of how motion leaves its mark and memory on the landscape.
After a wonderful first week of pre-sales, I’m deeply grateful for the support so far. If you’d like to explore the project and secure a signed copy, you can find all the details here:

Always plenty of thread to choose from in our house. These are the oldest reels I could find, left over from previous generations... given a vintage mono feel.

Make compassion the cotton, contentment the thread,
modesty the knot and thruth the twist.
This is the sacred thread of the soul;
if you have it, then go ahead and put it on me.

You are my golden thread ♥
We don't accomplish anything in this life alone...and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one's life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.
