This seems to be very typical in China. Even in the subway you can see a mom standing next to you with her baby LIKE THIS.
Well, shit happens ;-)
This is a gigantic outdoor banner covering a building. This is definitely one way to make a statement.

This castle hidden in a sleepy town in France was build somewhere around 1830 by a wealthy family. They still own the castle. The castle is in a very bad state.... Some places the roof collapsed. And the floors aren't that good too.. Although it's empty, it was still worth a visit.
Visited this place in June 2013
This photo was taken with my Infrared converted Canon 400D. It was recently selected as the winning photo for the Alexandria Photowalk.
This architectural drawing was prepared for the School of Arts in Wallsend by J. W. Pender. Plan No. 1 consists of the ground plan and first floor plan of the school of arts building in Wallsend. This plan is very sillilar to that drawn in M5038-1, differences being that the measurements in this plan are slightly shorter and there are less windows. The building remains standing today on Cowper Street, Wallsend.

This was requested as a self-portrait. It isn’t a one-to-one equivalent of the person who commissioned me due to limitations of the sculpt.
I’m beginning to resent the way the gloss photographs but it looks really nice in person. >_< Aaaand… I think I’m going to avoid using black as my back drop.

Beautiful skies this morning! Enjoy!
This pendant is made from polymer clay and a glass nugget. It is a reminder to look on the bright side of life.
This Los Angeles street was a location used for the 1990 movie "Darkman". This was where Peyton (Liam Neeson) sees Julie (Frances McDormand) off in a taxi. This street is right around the corner from his loft.
This is located on Crocker at 3rd Street in the city of Los Angeles.
This is absolutely my favorite recipe so far from King Arthur Flour's Whole Grain Baking. It was moist and delicious.
This is a restored commercial slide that was badly faded. I will gladly remove it if there are any complaints regarding copyright.
This was one of two conceptual books I made my senior year of college. For this one, I was playing off the ideas of reflection and self-perception (but mostly I was trying to convince myself to heed my own advice.) The mirror folds out of the book when opened.
The full text is...
"When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
Obviously, you see yourself; that's a given.
But how do you see yourself?
Do you see yourself differently than other people see you?
Do you see yourself differently than you do other people?
fret about every stupid thing you do, no matter how insignificant?
rarely let your true personality shine through?
envy others' happiness?
not believe compliments, and maybe even think the reverse?
always worry about what others think of you?
Stop it.
Try this: look in the mirror again.
If you see a hair out of place, leave it.
In fact, also wear the shirt with the hole in it.
(And maybe two different colored socks.)
Forget what other people think, and be who you want to be.
Don't pretend to be someone you're not.
Tell someone how you actually feel.
Stop trying to impress everybody.
Do something your friends won't expect.
Eat cake for breakfast, without worrying how many calories it has.
Being reserved is for library books and tables for four.
Don't hold back.

Social Distortion
Sick-boy, in his faded blue jeans,
Sick-boy, black leather jacket scene.
Sick-boy, he's always in trouble
With the law don't ya know...
Sick-boy, he carries a switch blade knife
Sick-boy, likes to get into fights.
Sick-boy, he'll go drinkin'
With the boys all night long.
Sick-boy, rides a big motorbike,
Sick-boy, combs his hair up just right.
Sick-boy, with tattoos up and
Down his arms, don't ya know...
Sick-boy, he's got a girl wrapped around
his arm,
Sick-boy, with his street-like charm.
Sick-boy, he'll make love to her
All night long, don't ya know...
This is fuckin' BADASS!!! Whatever this is waited above an entrance to my clothesline pole (where there is a hornets nest in which I was about to spray) and I saw this thing go after one. Caught it, flew back onto the cross pole and went about eating it. Just for comparison, that is a full grown hornet it has underneath it. I would have to guess that it is the size of my thumb.
Update: It is a Robber Fly (Dasylechia atrox)

Right back at the beginning of January, one of the first of my project 365 photos was of a barn conversion project I was working on. The conversion is now almost complete, and the holiday cottages are booked through the summer season. I met the builders and the owners on site this morning, to agree details for handing over the keys.

This is the cold front from the North heading in over Stirling. Hopefully it will break the heat wave. As i type this, Stirling has become very dark at 4:42 p.m. The temperature has dropped from +33º C to +20º C in 15 minutes.

This Spanish airline is operating various domestic French routes from Lille and other places, which is a little unusual but guess EU freedom at work.
This amazing view of nature was seen through my closed window of an awesome sunset and darkening blue sky. The cloud and colour changes were beautiful. I took other shots from the balcony, but liked this one as being a different point of view (POV).
This was taken within days of meeting my wife. She seems interested...
We celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary this year.
This was the 2nd day of the 1001 Dream theme weekend - it was pretty nice. Not as many people show up on Sundays so there were fewer photo ops but the people I shot with were so much fun to deal with. I took these photos on 20 October 2013.
For those that don't know, the Texas Renaissance Festival is one of the biggest Ren Festivals in the country. It's held over 8 weekends in October-November and is located in a small town (?) called Todds Mission about 50 miles NW of Houston.
This bus was new to Lothian Buses as 404 in 2014.

This bus came in, ready to take up a working on the 18, an unusual bus to be seen on the 18.
I thought this big old cypress tree had the neatest trunk on it, but didn't post it till I saw Calamity's photo of her tree.
This is a former Independent, UK and Burmah branded site. Gulf now for a nearly a decade and not far from the Smithy View Service Station posted yesterday. Richard has it when UK branded, see below.
I think it's fair to say it looked a bit more interesting back then than it does now but it's still a nice compact forecourt.

This was another epic main event battle between two fighters known to put on a good show. On top of that, both have an equal fan following, and the room was evenly divided. Something takes over the people who seem to be living vicariously through the fighters, and there is not usually anyone sitting in their seats at this point. The fighter on the bottom ended up winning this fight, delivering a knockout blow from his back, and everyone was blown away by the spectacle.
This bus is one of 20 2023 IC CE's currently in the fleet. This bus replaced a 2004 IC CE 200 once owned by the district.
This actor didn't smile much, but she served drinks to thirsty people at one of the Ren Faire's own concessions.
