Taking various pics at the Scramble Crossing Shibuya, and suddenly see this across the road! I can't remember for the life of me what she was playing. Something suitably arty and moody. FYI, she was on someones shoulder, not stilts.
As Teruhide pointed out in the comments, how strange is it that no-one is looking at her? Not even 1 person??? Although the guy on her right looks like hes trying hard to not look!
On a side note, I love how the pedestrian light man is wearing a formal hat! So Proper! I love the traffic light men from a round the world, all so diffeent, but same same. I wanted to do a photoboook on it when I backpacked around the world when I was a kid. I can imagine the meetings councils have to decide their design. "No, hes not wearing a hat! what would people think?"

Original acrylic painting on stretched 16"x20" canvas
This painting is inspired by “The Mother Of Faces” a spirit who
only appears in the Avatar Last Air Bender comic “The Search.” As with many of the characters in the Avatar world, Mother of faces is a fascinating and strong female archetype (IE: Compassionate Mother Protector and Gentle Giant) that shows great heart and generosity while still commanding respect and awe. The mother’s ability to emerge and
become mightier than the very mountains around her sacred pool was especially inspiring to me. I enjoyed exploring and expressing her tremendous scale within my painting, while also aiming to capture her surreal beauty and grace. As an artist, I usually gravitate to subject matter related to the sacred feminine, warrior women, and the paranormal or metaphysical. I saw all of these things in The Mother of Faces and felt she would lend herself well to my painting approach as well as my existing body of work.

The Cape Buffalo is traditionally known as the meanest beast in the bush, prone to launch a killing charge at the drop of a hat. Although this is the natural reaction of almost any buffalo that is being shot at, many unprovoked, solitary males like the ones in this image also do it. They are taking a mud bath, but it did not make them any gentler. The most common species, a very large black-pelted grassland dweller, can weigh up to 1,750 pounds.
If you want to experience him in your space, click on the image and he charges off the screen!
What I found ironic on this particular buffalo are the two small green leaves on his forehead, which look like green "Tilaka" or the "Third Eye" that you would commonly seen on Indians after a religious ceremony. It is believed to cool the person down or bring them peace.
In South Africa, we were out for a night drive where we followed a Pride of Lions tracking a herd of Cape Buffalos. One of the large lions jumped on the back of a male buffalo and tried to bite through his spinal cord. The buffalo headed at full speed toward a tree with low hanging branches and knocked him off.
Understandably angry, he turned around and charged our 4x4 at full speed. The Guide slammed the gearshift into reverse and the gas pedal to the floor. We went flying backwards over rough ground. The buffalo having made his point backed off on his charge.
It was one of the most exciting experiences on the trip, but not one that I would want to repeat.
Older males are generally forced out of the group. They tend to be solitary or join bachelor herds. You might hear guides refer to them as "old dagga boys". The word "dagga" is Zulu and means mud - it refers to the fact that they like wallowing in mud
Buffalo are the favorite prey of Lions, and where there are Buffalo, the Lion Prides are sure to not be far behind. There is a fairly permanent herd of around a thousand Buffalo that live on the Duba Plains in the Okavango and there are a couple of prides of Lion that regularly hunt them.
