Third Graders at Lewis Elementary studied Ancient Egypt and the discover of King Tut's tomb. Since his tomb was like a time capsule, giving Egyptologists information about Egyptian life in the past, students each used slab construction methods to create a time capsule sarcophagus from clay. Each student's family and friends then helped collect items and personal letters and artifacts from third grade. These time capsules are sealed now, not to be opened until each student's eighteenth birthday, ten years from third grade.
