Ever since I have lived in Port Macquarie I have been coming to this little cutout in the bush that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It has always been a place to gather thoughts and of course hang out & watch the sunrise. This place has a lot of sentimental value to me. My fiancee Elle and I used to come up here with a packed bag & drink coffee to watch the sunrise togeather, we actually had our first date under the stars just a few hundred meters away from this spot. Fast forward a few years and I proposed to her at this very spot. So I'm not sure if it has an actual name but to us, this is the thinking spot :-)

A very small thing: the flower 'bouquet' is about one inch (2.5 cm) across. In New South Wales (& some other states of Australia) they are classified as a noxious weed (they are invasive; "a Weed of National Significance") although current thinking suggests there may be value in retaining some as their thickety growth can provide protection for native animals from feral creatures such as cats.

It took me 2h15 min not 2 hours to reach the summit. Most people on the trail were complaining about joint pain and being tired. Well, get the animal products out of your diet, people, and you will have more energy and your joints will be fine!
