This Turk's Cap lily, a threatened species, was photographed in June, 2012, at Irwin Prairie State Nature Preserve, near Swanton, OH. Visitors are not permitted off the boardwalk at this preserve. This was shot using my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 at 200mm, with a 1.4x teleconverter on a crop sensor body.

Pareidolia: a face in a tree root among mosses. An owl, perhaps? Or, no wink, but a fish hiding in seaweed?
And here's another joke, this time on me: two consecutive photos in my stream, of very different subjects, but with identical compositions, taken three minutes apart, as it turns out. I was really thinking diagonally during that walk in the woods!

I know I'm very early for Tanabata, but I wanted to share this picture I took at the beach the other day.
Besides this shoot being a ton of fun, I also learned a lot during the shooting and editing process, for which I'm extremely grateful. Will be posting a blogpost soon
Basically, the shoot represents all the wishes a single person has and holds to. Some wishes might drift away over time, or seem unattainable, but I hope that if you want it badly enough, you will never give up until you get it.
