I think this is one of the coolest bird homes ever. This osprey really had it all. Multiple perches, multiple levels and of course the river coursing nearby. And it is in Yellowstone. One of the best addresses of all. :)
I can't think of a better title but when looking at shots that I took of my city of Nottingham I once again remembered what I considered a case of inverted snobbery. I reminded Jonathan who does not take my side in this saying "it’s tough but you can't win so drop it " No support there then. I was born in Sneinton a suburb of Nottingham and attended Secondary school in the heart of Sneinton and when married lived on Windmill lane a two minute walk from Greens Windmill and all the four children I had were born in the house on Windmill lane which is THE very heart of Sneinton. I just did another check of the boundary map and just as I was informed by this eclectic group my present house is literally a cul de sac ( just to make this clear) on the wrong side of a boundary road. There is a group that make up The Sneinton Artists Quarter that have markets and stalls and events to market their various Arts. I print and frame my own photo's and asked to join this group. I was turned down flat as I live mere metres away on the wrong side of the street now :( Some times I am proud of where I was born and where all my mothers side of the family hailed from...I feel like the egg which was kicked out of the nest by a cuckoo lol...I know I am mixing metaphors but ' hey, I am accepted on Flickr and know my friends don't make distinctions like that ..Sue :)
Btw, you may find my use of a macro lens here odd...but it is still a prime lens and I like that length occasionally as it covers different options when I go into town...
This was meant to be just a recce as I favour a good sunset (ok we don't seem to get those atm) but the walk from where you park the car is longer then I expected especially when I've been suffering from a bit of a Lyme flare up this week. However for me poppies are enough of a motivation to shake off any aches and pains!!
The light and shadows I think were enough for me to come away with a couple of shots that weren't completely flat but I do favour that golden light
I hope to return before they go over! And summer where are you?

Costumes by Machine Dazzle, in the exhibit Maximalist Queer, at the Museum of Arts and Design. He used a lot of black light/day-glo colors, but while they weren't in everything, everything was striking and vivid.
Is a butterfly on a bright yellow flower a bit cliché? Perhaps, but it brings a bit of sunshine to a Tuesday
that's a nice topic for me because my son owns an optician shop

Ed eccoci alla presentazione della prima macchina decorata con i quantomeno vistosi colori della nuova impresa ferroviaria Oceanogate.

What happens when you take away the primary attribut of something as iconic as the California poppy, its orange color...these are the musings that led to this...
Holga camera in NYC
400 ISO Fuji black and white film
now that I have more contacts since I last uploaded this shot... figured I'd put it to the front of my stream, as it's one of my favorite photos that I've ever taken, that way more people can see it.
I really want to go back to shooting film.
My holga has a tendency to have ghost images on the bottom of the frame, in a sightly different place than where it should be. See where her jacket is doubled on the lower right? I don't think all holgas are this way. (edit: I like this quality of my holga a lot, actually)
Not literally, however, 4th shot shared from a very pleasant walk around the local reservoir with my son.
I think I'll call this Cruz Beach, after the rock. See previous photo for the confusing official names of the place. Our first time actually on the beach, though we've looked out at it a few times. One day there were two other people there!
North of the rounded hill is the (slightly) better known "Little Hawaii" beach, which on a busy day might attract as many as 6 or 8 people! It is the nicer beach of the two -- but watch out for very heavy beach-tar blobs at the north end of that one. "Drill here"?

And disciplinary remains mercifully
Yes and um, I'm with you Derek, this star nonsense
Yes, yes, now which is it?
I am sure of it
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl, year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here
