But when you get behind the camera you can be involved without being on centre stage. I learned quickly that I could participate in the things I loved while taking pictures. Photography was my way of fitting in :-)

I think this is an immature black-chinned hummingbird taking in some of the goodness from an ocotillo flower. Ocotillos are interesting plants. For a lot of the year they look like dead bundles of spiny sticks. This ocotillo was probably 10-15 feet (3-4m) tall, but they can grow up to 30 feet (10m) tall according to Wikipedia. After a rain the ocotillo leaf out with lush green foliage for a short while before they return to their leafless dead-looking state. In the springtime, they sport these lovely red flowers that attract the likes of this hummingbird. Note all the pollen on the bird's face.

think this is even better than the shot below

Just a random snap - and a big time mood.

I think the mothers milk might have a drop to much wine in it:-) The one on the left=Half a bottle. The one on the right=Full bottle and the little one at the back found the vat.......... The Seals are born on a Royal Air Force training ground used for bombing practice so you would think sleep would be hard to come by.

Well for one young seal this seems not to be the case.

adj.astonished to think back on the bizarre sequence of accidents that brought you to where you are today—as if you’d spent years bouncing down a Plinko pegboard, passing through a million harmless decision points, any one of which might’ve changed everything—which makes your long and winding path feel fated from the start, yet so unlikely as to be virtually impossible.

Perhaps a bitter pill to swallow. Grand daughter Livia is allergic to the dog, so anytime she is over she needs help with that. When got them out I said...."wait a sec" and got the camera.

Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. It is considered a heterogeneous disease—differing by individual, age group, and even the kinds of cells within the tumors themselves. Obviously no woman wants to receive this diagnosis, but hearing the words “breast cancer” doesn’t always mean an end. It can be the beginning of learning how to fight, getting the facts, and finding hope.

Women in the United States get breast cancer more than any other type of cancer except for skin cancer. It is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in women.

Each year it is estimated that nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. Approximately 1,700 men will also be diagnosed with breast cancer and 450 will die each year. The evaluation of men with breast masses is similar to that in women, including mammography.

If you'd like more infromation here are 2 great resources..I worked for the American Cancer Society and I provided services to women and men with breast cancer.♥

"Pineapple juice doesn’t come in a can—it comes in a hard, spiky shell called a pineapple. Pineapples are great and all, but of all things to grow, up is the most profitable.” - Jarod Kintz

la vie en rose

I think I know.

I do know!

These are the woods of Robert Frost, the ones that inspired his famous poem, "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening."

Whose woods these are I think I know.

His house is in the village though;

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To ask if there is some mistake.

The only other sound’s the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

I really liked the way this tree seemed to be bending backwards and embracing it's brethren.

I think this is my first time experimenting with a multiple daylight long exposures, I took 400 shots at this famous spot on Xinyi Avenue, and then picked five of them to create this image.

1. Clouds (one exposure): 192 sec., f22, 11mm, ISO 200 + ND8 + ND400 + Black card.

2. Traffic (four exposures): 1 sec., f22, 11mm, ISO 200 + ND8 + Black card

3. Processing: Adobe Camera Raw + CS6 + Google Nik Collection

Have a great day!
