Smile on Saturday theme Things with Wings. Used to fly RC planes. Found this in the garage. It was kinda dinged up but some glue and touch up with Gimp. The camouflage paint made the patching easer. Smile it's Saturday.

Happily this is not a current event. I shot this photo from my driveway during the Utah Range Fire on and around Mount Timpanogos. There were no human causalities and as wildfires go the property damage was somewhat limited. For the Smile on Saturday challenge, things with wings.
10 Tanker Air Carrier DC-10 fire tanker, tail number 910 begins its run dropping PhosCheck fire retardant along a ridgeline fighting the Range Fire in the foothills of Mount Timpanogos in Utah County, Utah.
This winged lion represents Saint Mark the Evangelist, patron of Venice, in the statue outside of the Venetian resort in Las Vegas. As the sky darkened it was turning very strange shades of purplish blue. Here's a companion photo taken earlier that same day: flic.kr/p/2ozEYV6.

This is our friendly neighbour Mr Bird. Mr Bird is standing on a fence and keeps an eye on things. You never hear him grumble (even when it's raining and the wind is blowing), he greets everyone who passes and everyone he meets here on Flickr. But... don't call mr Bird a thing, he is very sensitive.
