Please stay
I want you, I need you, oh God
Don't take
These beautiful things that I've got
... and it made the trees rustle like living things.

Should I make just one more batch of mince pies? I made my own mincemeat this year. I'll never buy a made up pot ever again. It's delicious.
I'm making some mulled wine this weekend. Root ginger, allspice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange and lemon peel. (organic unsprayed fruit of course!) oh...and not forgetting some plonk!
There are things known
and there are things unknown
and in between are
the door of perception
– A. Huxley
All the earth grows fire,
White lips of desire
Brushing cool on the forehead, croon slumbrous things.
Earth fades; and the air is thrilled with ways,
Dewy paths full of comfort. And radiant bands,
The gracious presence of friendly hands,
Help the blind one, the glad one, who stumbles and strays,
Stretching wavering hands, up, up, through the praise
Of a myriad silver trumpets, through cries,
To all glory, to all gladness, to the infinite height,
To the gracious, the unmoving, the mother eyes,
And the laughter, and the lips, of light.
Rupert Brooke, "Sleeping Out: Full Moon" (l. 14-25).
Recently there was a terrible fire in my area. One person died and at least 50 people lost their homes and all their things. Much of the apartment building was just broken up. Sadly, it was the 7th fire, at that apartment complex, in just a few years time. In the end, more lives could have been lost. Things are just things. Our lives are so much more important than the things that we own.
Still traveling through Italy. Presently in the most beautiful city of Stresa, overlooking Lago Maggiore. I don't get too much time online but I promise to visit everyone when I return.
Ciao,

Some things improve with age. Like wine (I’m told)
Stonework certainly does. New, it looks like a little boy in his first suit….. a little uncomfortable. But leave it a few years, or even a few hundred years, let it get weatherbeaten, chipped and scarred and it mellows. It develops colour and character.
Like some people.
“I look at everything. God gave me eyes and I look at women and men and subway excavations and moving pictures and the little flowers of the field. I casually inspect the universe.”
Caspia - this is part of my minimum collection, flowers with no more than 5 millimeters in size.
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things but, vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things ore make them unimportant" Doctor Who
It's the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary; only wise men are able to understand them

An old shot here.
Mostly updated for the purpose of fulfilling my tagged duties.
So 10 things you may not have known about me:
1) I think I am officially addicted to the $1 vanilla soft serve cones from McDonald's.
2) Whenever I discover a blog I really like, I usually read through or flip through the entire thing to see how the blogger's style has evolved. This gets pretty obsessive and time-consuming.
3) I am VERY near sighted - hoping that laser surgery will be cheaper and nearly perfected in the next 10 years or so. I currently own 3 pairs of glasses and still wear contacts...haha.
4) I think my current dream job is to be a photo editor of some kind of home/interior decorating magazine, because even more than I like taking pictures, I love discovering/looking through others' works and picking out what would look nice together. And of course still take pics on the side!
5) I have over a dozen moles/beauty marks on my face. I would love to get rid of some of them.
6) It makes me feel slightly superior to take longer subway rides than the people around me (totally irrational because they could be transferring but nonetheless...)
7) I have had sushi every Monday for the past month.
8) I think sushi would be a deal-breaker food for me, romantic-relationship wise :P (that and spicy food).
9) I could probably win an award for being bad at saving money.
10) I'm leaving for school for my FINAL year in exactly 2 weeks - AAH. One of my biggest concerns about the real world is not having health insurance once I turn 23 and am no longer in school or on my parents' insurance. Ridiculous right?! :P
Oh and if you have time, check out me, Bryan, and Justin's fun last night!
