Ice at Carr Vale. Thick enough for the ducks to walk, but the swans were too heavy and had to swim through like icebreakers.
Studio shot 8x10 view camera, used Polaroid 8x10 which I later boiled off and transfered onto thin slabs of stained wood.

Wondering if we may be hit by the Emerald Ash Borer. Apparently, All of Ottawa’s ash trees will die within 15 years, city officials were told. I think we're supposed to call the Food & Inspection Agency (1-866-463-6017) if you think that invasive beetles are eating your ash trees. Now for the latest information on the Emerald Ash Borer, this agency has the lowdown (kinda). They also have a FAQ and other info.
Thin Lizzy est un groupe de rock irlandais formé à Dublin en 1969. À l'origine un trio composé d'Eric Bell (guitariste), Phil Lynott (bassiste, chanteur et principal compositeur) et Brian Downey (batteur), le groupe connaît un premier succès en 1973 avec Whiskey In The Jar, une adaptation d'un air traditionnel irlandais. Après le départ de Eric Bell, remplacé par les guitaristes Brian Robertson et Scott Gorham, Thin Lizzy atteint le sommet de sa popularité en faisant évoluer sa musique vers le hard rock. Sorti en 1976, l'album Jailbreak est une grande réussite, notamment grâce au morceau The Boys are Back in Town et d'autres que les fans apprécient comme Jailbreak ou Emerald.
De la fin des années 1970 à sa séparation en 1983, le groupe continuera son chemin avec une audience fidèle, mais ne parviendra pas à s'imposer auprès des médias comme un acteur majeur de la scène rock internationale. Toutefois, son influence musicale est significative auprès des musiciens et on la retrouve dans la plupart des groupes de heavy metal à deux guitaristes solistes ainsi que dans ceux issus de la vague fusion hard rock - funk apparus vers la fin des années 1980. Depuis 1994, Thin Lizzy se reforme à plusieurs reprises sans son leader Phil Lynott, décédé en 1986, pour donner quelques concerts et enregistrer un album live.
Thin Lizzy are a hard rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. Two of the founding members, drummer Brian Downey and bass guitarist and lead vocalist Phil Lynott, met while still in school. Lynott led the group throughout their recording career of twelve studio albums, writing most of the material. The singles "Whiskey in the Jar" (a traditional Irish ballad), "Jailbreak", and "The Boys Are Back in Town" were major international hits. After Lynott's death in 1986, various incarnations of the band emerged over the years based initially around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes, though Sykes left the band in 2009. Gorham later continued with a new line-up including Downey.

Thin Lizzy at Newcastle City Hall on 12th April 1979 taken with my Zenith E using a 125mm lens. I scanned these from the original negatives which I recently found, so much better than the pictures I got at the time most of which had a red cast to them. This was the 4th and last time I saw the band

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

Im not into tribute bands at all but these guys are fab, brilliant at the Lizzy songs we had a great night , i never got to see the real Thin Lizzy to my regret but musically these guys are as good as them in my opinion .
They didn't try to imitate them physically as you can see , Phil Lynott was tall ,lean had a mop of hair and was black , think of the complete opposite and you have Johnny Fox pictured here!
He is a great frontman good singer and bass player , what more could you ask for a great nights rocking?

I made these heart-shaped for the love of Valentine's Day. Also I thought it upped the cuteness. I don't have any photos from dipping because it was a mess and I didn't have a photo assistant. Dipping tip: I needed twice as much melted chocolate and I found mixing a tablespoon or two of coconut oil into it helped both the flavor and the ease of coating the cookies.
